I've been meaning to ask... does the new release have this little feature on it?

That's what I thought, but nobody seems to like it.

Good point, although I agree with Matthew Chmiel that the Elite releases were by far the best ones.

I thought it sucked. A few funny moments and the rest of the time he just talks about what a stupid movie it is. I love ripping on bad films, though NOTLD is not bad by any means, but to make it humorous you must make your criticism satirical. He hardly does this on this commentary.

If this was said before, I apologize: Don May of Synapse Films helped with the remastering of the video and audio so I'll pick this one up eventually based on that alone. It may be a few months down the road but I look forward to reading (or seeing!) comparisons of the two.

Wow, I didn't know that. I love the work Don and Co. do at Synapse.

If I remember right the MSRP for this new NOTLD release is only $14.99. I already have the Elite release, so it might be worth picking up the new disc cheap for the new extras.

On the Elite DVD, it starts off all scratched up and mangled, like an old VHS copy. After a few seconds, you see the screen completely clear up, and are shown the restored version. it's quite amusing if you go into it without knowing

I've been hearing about this intro for years and have never seen it. It is on youtube or something? I'd love to see it, sounds great.

Very good edition all around. The picture is gorgeous, and the Doc and commentary well made.

This is the first time I've seen the films official trailer. Wow. Ed Wood would've been proud.

Here's a comparison for those who are stumped on which version to buy...

Top: Elite's Millennium Edition
Bottom: Dimension's 40th Anniversary Edition

I already bought it but nice. It looks a lot less fuzzy. NotLD has always looked to me like it was shot through a haze or something.

This screen cap is not accurate. I have both the Millennium Edition & the new 40th which I A/B'd today. My copy of M.E. is nowhere near that dark. It looks like the bottom picture.

I'm still overjoyed with the quality of the Elite version myself....not "upgrading" on this one.
