Fifth Element 2 Disc Special Edition?

Anyone heard any word about there being a 2 disc special edition for The Fifth Element? The Region 2 release is supposed to be fantastic and I was hoping to hold off till a Region 1 release came out. I didn't wait for a Region 1 A Fish Called Wanda, but I got that for lot cheaper than what The Fifth Element is going for. Luckily I held off on the Region 2 Predator since its release will be this year.

doubt it... since columbia already got Fifth element superbit

but then again, we're talking the king of double-dipper studio here (look at Depserado SE while they already got superbit)

King of double-dipper studio[s]? I trust you've never heard of Anchor Bay or Artisan, eh?

The video on the R2 version aint that great. The extras and packaging are much better though. I doubt it will get re-released because there is already two releases of it and its not a super popular movie.

Decide for yourself on the Region 2 jmstone18:

I'm not crazy on the motion menus though but I'm glad I got it.

If you go to http://www.dvdbeaver.com click on "DVD Comparisons" and find the Fifth Element listing ('fraid I can't seem to give a direct link because of the way the site is set up) you will see an eye-opening comparision which shows that the Superbit has a much better image than the R2.

Another visual comparison that covers, both region 1 releases, both region 2 releases and a region 3 superbit (same as region 1)

Region 1 Superbit definitely has a better transfer than the R2 SE. No question.

Josh, my dear namesake, you would be comparing apples and oranges.

How is the new Fifth Element 2 Disc Special Edition different from the old Super Bit?

Sorry...I would assume it's the same superbit transfer with a bonus disc, but there are no reviews out yet.

See the HTF review. It does not have the defective audio of the superbit, and the video appears to be the same.
