where is carlito's way?
 

i thought new version was coming out same day as scarface but it was delayed and haven't heard anything else. anyone heard what the problem is?

Scarface was released on the 30th.

It seems that many people have had issues trying to find this re-release. I went to my local Best Buy on the release day and came away empty handed. I eventually ordered it from Bestbuy.com when they had a promo going. However, even now, I still do not see it readily available at my local B&M stores.

Circuit City and Wal-Mart both carry the SE version of this film on DVD.

I saw it in a two pack with some other movie...I forget at a store...I think it was K-Mart...was $19.99...

CW is packed with Mobsters -

Walmart has a double pack with the CE and Mobsters for $18.99 (I picked it up) and finally watched Carlitos way last night, good movie

deepdiscountdvd.com has it for $13.99. Unfortunately you missed the sale when it was $8.99 a few weeks ago.

I think I paid $17 for it back on Sept. 2

Pick it up from Columbia House...

went to walmart and they had the old collectors edition for 14.99 but didn't see the new special edition.

Maybe you did see the new one? It's not particularly flashy looking. All it says is "Collector's Edition" in a blue banner up top. One disc only. It's not a big flashy re-release (ala Scarface)

does the old version have any kind of banner like the new one on the front, so i can be sure?

the old one says Widescreen down in the bottom with Red...the new one says Collectors Edition at the top in blue...

Hey guys (and gals) some questions on this.

All the online pics I see of the collector's edition have a plain front with no WS or CE banners. I saw one today at CC that also had nothing on the front, but also didn't list any features or anamorphic on the back. It was marked 22.99 but figured it'd ring up less than that (i didn't check)

So, was that the old version, or the CE? Any other way to tell? Would just go the DDD route, but it's only available in the 2pack.

I cannot answer you for sure, but I can say that every time I have been in Circuit City over the past couple of months, the NEW Anamorphic version has been $14.99.

Right, that's where I picked mine up. Surprised it's hard to find for some. Different stores and all that, I guess. The documentary was pretty good on it, need to rewatch it to refresh my memory.

OOP? That's a shame. It's de Palma's best mobster movie -- far better than his somewhat overrated Untouchables or his extremely overrated Scarface.

The SE went OOP?! WTF. It just came out few months ago, didn't it?

i found one at borders before xmas....but it is getting hard to find....snatch it up. This is a re-release OOP, and i don't expect to see a triple dip anytime soon

I just purchased this movie back in the fall. The stores around me carry it and usually have it in stock, but they don't really carry a whole mess of them.
