Neither "The Making of King Kong nor The Girl in the Harry Paw(Ronald Gottesman/Harry Geduld-1976) show any of those particular scenes.

King Kong Restored

Hi,
Yesiree, KONG (The one and only) has been my fave movie since I was 10. It truly is one of the great examples of movie magic. Regarding the restored scenes: These were actually reinstated in 1970 (long before video/laser sales were even an option). The restored film was re-released in theaters that year to great acclaim and a whole new interest in it sprang up. The definitive book "The Making of King Kong" by Goldner and Turner came out a few years later and has been updated in the past couple of years. It's an awesome book! I sure would like to see the celebrated/fabeled Spider Sequence and feel there must be some source material somewhere. Let's keep looking for it!

I was disappointed that there was no mention of a release year in the recent WB Chat.

My guess would be that they will now sit on it and release it around the same time that Peter Jackson's King Kong remake hits theatres (Dec 2005?)

Anyone know if the version they showed on tv was restored?
