Currently I keep mine at the bottom of my entertainment center and on an inexpensive storage rack from Best Buy. I'm dumping the entertainment center when I move in August so I'll either buy another rack like I have or start over again with some of the suggestions on this thread. Depends on the finances.

I have the top one in cherry. It is great for keeping DVDs out of reach from the one year old.

I give Sauder lockable racks

I have two black racks that I bought at Best Buy. Each one holds around 250 DVD's. I have both of 'em full and I have room next to the others for one more rack...After that, I got no clue how I'll deal with my collection.

this thread shows what i'm using.
i took took open-faced dvd racks and modified them to make one cabinet that closes.
very simple to do, no complex skills required.

total cost for everything came to $60.
holds about 220-30 dvds

I like the Sauder cabinet but it was too small for me. I built this one and I really like the way it turned out.

I have six of the three drawer cabinets (model MC3D). That's storage enough to hold 1440 DVDs or 3240 CDs, or some combination thereof; all in a fairly compact manner. It's pretty amazing to see just how much you can fit into these cabinets.

From http://www.allmultimediastorage.com, purchased well over a year ago:

I have the black one. I have never liked the idea of just leaving my DVDs laying out on shelves with all the houseguests with small children that we have come through from time to time.

I paid like $30 for a bookshelf at Wal-Mart a few years ago, thinking that I'd need extra room to store books. Now my books are all over the floor and my 65 or so DVDs are begging for more space.

It's actually a nice-looking cabinet, although I don't have a camera.

my wife is very particular about how the room looks so I have to get something that blends in well. I have a pretty small collection so it's easier to do. The lights and dvd shelf are from ikea.

I have a custom-built wall unit. There is rollout storage on either side of the unit. Each of them holds about 180 DVDs.

That's a smooth looking setup, dizzarian. Kind of like something from Jonathan's house in the original Rollerball or maybe the writer's pad from A Clockwork Orange.

You should invite das Monkey over, since you're watching his favorite channel.

I have 2 of these, which hold 250 DVDs each (2 rows of 25 on each shelf):

plus a cabinet that holds 225 DVDs and other stuff.

Quickly running out of space!

That's exactly what I've been looking for for almost a year...
