Is old version of Peter Pan worth more than the new?

I know the newer version has all the goodies on it, but is the older (and i'm assuming OOP) version worth more now?

Thanks

I wouldn't think so, except to people who absolutely must have all OOPs or something...

If there was no new one.. it would be worth god on ebay, and you would be Rich, RICH AS NAZI'S I tell's you. :p

In any case, a new one is out, it has better extra's. I doubt the old one is even worth much at a used dvd store. :p

On a side note, do you think the limited edition titles that were re-released as part of the gold collection (without any added features) be worth any more?

I doubt it. I have "Gold" titles with the limited release DVD and insert. The cover art is the only thing that says "Gold Collection."

Usually items that have newer version that encompass or surpass all the older version extra usually result in the older version losing its $$$ value or oop value. Unless its a Critterion that has some features on it that the newer version doesn't.

The older version is certainly not worth more to me since it doesn't have any special features and the transfer is purportedly better on the newer Special Edition. However, a couple of online places that buy used discs such as spun.com and secondspin.com will pay $1 more for the older Limited Edition. Digitaleyes.net pays a lot less for the Limited Edition ($10.50 for SE vs. $2.99 for LE) which is more what I would have expected. So it all depends on who you ask.

I recently found a sealed Peter Pan - Special Edition at a pawn shop for $8, and I decided to see what people here have said about the release now that I have it, and I found this thread.

I then went to eBay, and to my surprise, the LE version is now bringing more on eBay than this SE. Do any of you guys know why that is?

Because it's labeled "Limited Edition" and not all ebay members are that bright.

the newer version is the only one to have....and they are both oop

either way you have an oop dvd

Brent L 01-20-05 09:19 AM

Well, that sounds like as good an answer as I'm going to get. ;)

Well thanks, I was worried that the SE had something wrong with it or something. Now I feel good about opening this bad boy up and enjoying it.

Yeah, the special edition is really good.
