Masters of the Universe series supposedly coming to DVD

This is from a report from the San Diego Comic Con, and since I didn't attend, I can't confirm, but...

http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...threadid=18285

Supposedly both the original and upcoming series are coming to DVD.

Can I just say that if this is for real, I'll be the first one to do cartwheels down the street. I think I love this format more and more by the day...and if this is true, that would mean that somebody actually bought the "library of doom" and freed up some other properties that I'm sure people would like (Bravestarr and Star Trek-The Animated Series come to mind).

I'll do backflips which are infinitely better than cartwheels down the street, so there.

Thanks for the info!

Can I just say, it's about damn time. Ever since I bought Transformers I was looking for more of the 80s cartoons that everyone loves. Now a new generation will be able to watch them. Of course they won't like them because they so used to the crap they make today (i.e. Digimon & Pepper Ann)

I'll probably buy these. I hope they include vintage He-Man toy advertisements too:

He-man figure: "It's Castle Greyskull!"
Beast-man figure: "And its mine!!

Got a question, even though I hate to dig up an old thread.

Does anyone remember what the linked info in the first post was about? I have a friend who's very interested in MOTU, and I'd like to know any details there may be in getting this stuff to DVD.

Thanks!

Man, that's gonna be a lot of DVDs. There's 130 episodes, according to TV Tome.

Well, I've been picking up the sets from the UK - and they are VERY nice indeed. They've got a couple of commentaries (done by two very knowledgeable fans - not fanwank in the slightest), some pre-production art, some pages from the series bible, and some very nicely done fan art. The series - when it comes out in the us - is going to have to be SUPER sweet to get me to double dip.

Sadly, I doubt we'll see any commercials. I suspect that the He-Man ads are in the same boat as the Joe and Transformers ads. The kid "actors" that held up the toys and played with them in the ads? They have to be paid royalties just like real actors do. Since they dont even have the documentation on who these people are, let alone contact infomation, they cant secure the rights.

So - no commercials.

I have been waiting for this show for a few years now and hopefully can't wait to see this be released. I don't remember too much of the show even though I'm an 80's person. But it looks awesome if we can get it.

That was a total non-sequitur.
