Re: Spaghetti Westerns
I just finished watching The Great Silence and I loved it. Highly recommended to anyone that is into spaghetti westerns and doesn't own it or hasn't seen it.

Re: Spaghetti Westerns
So, any good westerns being released this year? Usually May is the release month so I guess they are out for FD in June. I see Catlow from WB is due on 5/19 but this title escapes me as in not remembering it. Maybe they have all been released by now?

Re: Spaghetti Westerns
A couple of spaghetti westerns well worth the viewing:
1: Cemetary Without Crosses: nice tight western that pays homage to Leone. Great music and scenery, nice little tale of revenge for slaughtered family member that blurs the line of bad and good...on par with a bullet for the general and the great silence... 2: Face to Face: tomas milan and gia maria volante attempt to outdo each other on the screen while their characters morph into one another. Outstanding supporting role by william berger playing Charlie Siringo (real life pinkerton, bounty hunter). Said to be an allegory for Italy's fascination with fascism and communism in the 30's and 40's. A brilliant display of unbridled power versus intellect, this one doesn't disappoint. |
