Question about SteelBooks
Okay, so this is gonna seem like a dumb question to some/most of you. But, what is the attraction of a SteelBook version of a DVD/BD over a standard edition disc? I ask this because of the upcoming new Snow White release in October. Is a SteelBook nothing more than a different case for a disc?
Thanks! |
Re: Question about SteelBooks
A lot of people ask that question, and I'll give the same answer to a similar question posed about jazz: if you have to ask, then you'll never know.
Steelbooks are usually very sturdy, so they give a nice, expensive weight to the DVD, the cover art is often much more subtle, like a teaser poster, and depending on if it's dry or gloss, the finish of the case is often very pretty. It's purely aesthetic (sp?), but they look very nice on a DVD shelf. |

And they rust if you're in a humid climate!
