Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Does there exist a definitive list of which shows and which seasons have been repackaged? I go into stores all the time that still have sets in old packages, and I'd like to know ahead of time if I am able to purchase them in the smaller format (you know, so I don't buy four seasons of the X-Files in old packaging and then learn the next day that they exist in snapcases).

Soap: Seasons 1 through 4 are being repacked by Sony on April 6th
Can't prove it for sure from the pictures, but it looks like Warner/HBO may be switching Sex and The City seasons to the keepcase style (possibly something similar to Flight of the Conchords -- keepcase with clear slipcover) on April 27th. http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aacm...2/2621269.jpeg http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aacm...2/2621271.jpeg |
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I saw slimline repacks of Friends in Target today. they looked sharp but that's one of the few shows on dvd i own that all the seasons match in box type and i have 'the one with all ten seasons' collector's box to keep them in. but for anyone who doesn't already own Friends on dvd...

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I've seen all of Stargate SG-1 in the new packaging in stores (and the old packaging is way WAY better). Any word on Stargate Atlantis?

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Complete Collection
Laziest re-package they could've done right here: http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...7/c2af63bf.jpg Obviously the ANGEL complete collection would be exactly the same thing. |

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Holy crap... rotfl
That's terrible. Definitely worth seeking out the slick original "complete" collections. |

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Anybody know if FOX has re-released season 1 Tru Calling in the new slim packaging?

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
OK, I don't know if this has been asked already...I just noticed this thread and didn't read through all four pages yet. But can these cases be ordered from Fox WITHOUT the DVDs in them for a low price? I'd like to replace my cases in my collection for space saving sake, but I am certainly not going to rebuy season sets just to get the better cases.

No sadly, I do an online search for them about once a month to see if I can find them for sale and i've yet to have any luck. It's not only fox that uses them though, ABC and WB do as well.

What calhoun is asking is if they can get the repackages straight from Fox. Might be worth calling a 1-800 customer service number to try and find out.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Any idea if "Friday Night Lights" has been or will be re-issued in slim cases instead of the digipaks that the seasons are in now?
|
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Doubt it, NBC/Universal hasn't shown any interest in moving to the slim cases. All of their new or current shows are still using digipaks.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I saw seasons 1 and 8 of South Park in the slim packaging at walmart the other day. They had a brand new cover design as well.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I just found out last week, Smallville Seasons 2-4 are now available in the new slim packaging.
I'm NOT sure if season 1 is available in this new packaging. Can anyone confirm if Season 1 is available in the new packaging? |

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Saw those South Park sets the other day.
Horrible, horrible covers. They look like Asian bootlegs. The design is awful... they don't use the "South Park" logo, all of the little screens in the background clutter up the cover and the figures in the foreground sort of melt into them. |
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Wow, I think those new SP covers are great. Almost have a "Criterion-esque" feel to them, especially the spine.
Not sure about buying them anytime soon, we hardly have time to watch the stuff we have, and we certainly can't watch much South Park with a 3.5 year old in the house. |
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Not only are they bad, but the spines don't even align! If they're going to go through the trouble of creating all these new covers, they should at least get that right. Ugh. I hate Paramount.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Hm, that's sort of tempting. I'd need to see them in-store first though.
|
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
They've already got them in-store this week, for $14.99 each. And most of them have a coupon on the front for $3 off season 14.
|
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I saw "Psych" in clear, slim, standard DVD cases yesterday at Barnes & Noble. I hope season 5 matches the first four, and isn't only available in the slim case.
|
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I received a review copy of the South Park season 14 DVD set today, and it is packaged in a standard digipak just like the first 13 seasons originally were.. it doesn't make sense to me that they would re-release the first 13 in new packaging, then a few weeks later release season 14 in the old style packaging, but low and behold, they have!
|
Re: Fox TV gets smaller
I saw these new South Park seasons at Target yesterday. It's very tempting to replace the few seasons that I have now, but I haven't had the opportunity to watch those in ages so it would be pointless. But I still think they look great.

Re: Fox TV gets smaller
Guys, can anyone inform me if the packaging for The OC and Veronica Mars has changed? Thanks!
