A case with a tag for a security system? Kinda like the sensormatic system, but different, would be my guess.

I believe that it's a large, clear plastic case that goes over the regular dvd case to make shoplifting more difficult.

I think this is correct, but I believe both tags appear in standard amaray cases.

Re: What Exactly Is a "Checkpoint Case"

If it helps, the only place I've seen the phrase "Checkpoint Case" is in ebay's official data base.

Re: What Exactly Is a "Checkpoint Case"

Hey, bid on these brand new movies that come in their very own unbreakable protective shield to keep termites away. And as a special bonus so you don't accidentally open the shield by mistake and lose the DVD to termites only people at Walmart checkstands will be able to do it for you.

Oh... they may also smell like they've spent 20 minutes stuffed down my pants for some odd reason.

i believe that the "Checkpoint" cases are the ones with the square security sensor, mostly seen on dvd's in Target, sometimes on a separate piece of cardboard.

Sensormatic are the rectangle ones.

Maybe the cases that Blockbuster uses, The ones they sell with used DVDs that have a yellow plastic strip to prevent being opened.

We had sensormatic at my store, and they were white rectangular, "puffy" stickers. In side they have a couple flat thin strips of metal that are "magnetized" to set off the system until deactivated.

THe "Checkpoints" i think are the flat, circuitboard/maze looking stickers, right?

The way I read that, is that they are safer cases that have a checkpoint sticker in them for that specific security system. we had similar cases with sensormatic tags. Not sure what their proper names were though.
