Depending on your local FYE, X-Files SteelBook is available for sale already at $24.99. However the rebate won't kick in until this upcoming Saturday. I saw it today, but I decided to wait to take advantage of the rebate. The front cover is the same as announced, the back has a removable paper with artwork underneath. I didn't see what was underneath as the SteelBook was sealed.

Just checking to see if anyone else gets the slip cover off the regular 2D release for your steelbook purchase? I usually slip it over my steelbook take it to the check out and get go home with the slip cover over the steelbook for protection. Just makes it that much sweeter.

I do it too.. but only to those which doesnt come with booklet attached at the back. ( It doesnt work with Appleseed Ex Machina Bestbuy Exclusive and Gotham Knight Bestbuy Exclusive)

My best pet project is my Grindhouse Bestbuy Steelbooks - Combined with two slipcovers (the 2 disc slipcovers and the T.W.E.C. Exclusive Slipcover) -

** Credit to DVDTalk Member ABE (Thanks as always dude!) with this idea..

Yes it's good to know it's not billingual like "Bee Movies".
Heath Ledger should be on the cover, it looks better than the Batpod IMO.

Up to this day, I still cant figure out how that troll was able to shove in the Gotham Knight Steelbook inside the 2 disc slipcase (and he was able to do it inside the store?)

x3bowens, just to clear what howwon posted earlier there was this member in another forum that brags about a steelbook with a slipcover.

here is his post:

* will I credit this troll? I think not.. just source link only: http://www.joblo.com/forums/showthre...85#post2804785

* take a close look there are a lot of funny things in this image

I received the following message from DVD Empire, last week:

We have been informed by our distributors that the item 'Transsiberian (Steelbook)' is no longer available and will not be available at any time in the future..

Broke my heart to have to leave Best Buy without that Doctor Who Season 4 in my hands. I just didn't have the $70 for it (mine was stickered properly $83.99 on sale for $69.99) as I just bought an X3 of ebay for $170 (which also sucked as I just saw one finish for $100). But they had seven of them I am hoping they have some left in 2 weeks time so I can grab one, with the high price of the item I am thinking they will plus they had seven left on Friday almost end of the sale week.

I am a huge Doctor Who fan, I even got my wife to watch the show. I remember as a kid the only time I was allowed to stay up late was Saturday as Who was on PBS every Saturday night at 11pm. My wife was watching them off an on with me as I tivo them and now she has agreed to rewatch all the seasons with me, so we are going to watch all three seasons and hopefully four seasons in a bit.

It took me a few days to build it, but I finally have a proper R1 SteelBook™ cabinet. I just have to figure out where to put the double wide Disney SteelBooks™.

Sauder model # 401349 (The Orchard Hills Collection) Multimedia Storage Cabinet.

The assembly instructions had a weight limit for each shelf/section.
Door shelves - 5 lbs each for a total of 20 lbs for each door
Main shelving - 12 lbs each
Top - 5 lbs
Base - 20 lbs

Properly distributed, the cabinet can hold 101 lbs of SteelBooks™.
The cabinet itself, weighs about 75 lbs and can hold 272 DVDs.

POTC:AWE, Ratatouille and JungleBook are shrink wrapped with the slip cover movie. I'll post a picture, when I get a chance.

Those that are are not wrapped, are protected with a poly sleeve (thanks to scott1598 for the heads up on this).
Without getting into any specific details, 2009 will be an interesting year.

This might seem a bit rant-ish, so by no means take any offense, but why do you have multiple copies of what appears to be the same exact DVD?

I only ask because it definitely bugs me that people are buying these limited editions in super bulk and either capitalizing on it with ebay or hording the copies for themselves.

I want to buy one copy of a movie and watch it, but because of stuff like this, I can't get one copy of a movie while some people are buying three or four.

Truly nice collection, though.

Hello BullGooseLoony,

Aside from the Iron Man Blu-ray SteelBooks™, everything else is readily available in my city and across Canada.

What SteelBook™ are you looking for? Maybe I can help.

Cheer

The two I'd love to get my hands on are sealed copies of The Departed and Sex & the City (Best Buy, not Futureshop), but I know the latter especially costs an arm and a leg.

Since both copies are USA versions, I will not be able to help you. Have you opened a thread in the trading section? That would be a good place to start.

Good luck to you.
