Smallville Package Size?

I noticed that the Smallville Season DVD sets have slimmed down the size on the packaging. Does anyone know which season was the first to have this new size? I've seen a lot of the seasons coming in both sizes.

i've seen re-releases of the first four seasons starting to come in the slimmer versions also. i guess this is something warner bros. is doing with lots of their shows? i noticed this with gilmore girls too. when s1 and s2 were released, they were in the thick packs, switched to the thinner sets from s3 and on, and now i've seen s1 and s2 in those similar-type thinner packs.

i got season 4 last december, it was the thicker one. had to take it back cuz 2 discs were scratched and skipped, replacement was a thinner version

I just noticed this with 5 as well. Smaller is better, but the inconsitency on my shelves annoys me now. :(

lol same! I have season 2 in the thick version and season 6 which is thin.

I'm pondering if I should buy season 7 when it comes out or wait till all of Smallville is over and buy the complete set in thin version. But then I'd have the extra season 2 and 6. :(
