Steelbook Question

Could anyone tell me if its a common thing for disc(s) to be loose in a steelbook case? In my Spawn the animated series steelbook and the new Robocop 20th anniversary steelbook one of the discs was loose in each. Neither was scratched thankfully but i just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem? thanks in advance

i don't think it is common, but the "Robocop" has had loose discs in many reported. it is probably the manufacturing of this one. but, overall i don't think it is widespread or anything like that.

When I was in Best buy last, I picked up each copy of the Robocop steelbook, and every single one had a loose disc in it. There were about 5 copies left, so I dont know if people just bought the other ones or what.

It seems to me that this is quite an uncommon problem for steelbook. the hubs are designed so that each disc is separate from the other when overlapping. Also there are two prongs on the inside left of the pastic part so that if the discs come loose then they are still held in place.
Many plastic dvd cases can have this problem once in a while. think how many millions are sold
I bought the robocop one and my discs were fine.

I own two steelbooks... Robocop and Death Proof. Both had disc one loose in the case, but unscratched.

I've only bought them from B&M and didn't come across any with floaters.

The discs weren't loose in my Robocop steelbook, on the contrary, the hubs kept the discs so tight in place, I had a hard time getting the discs off. I had to push hard, and I mean pliers-hard here, on those tabs in the middle, before the disc came loose.

depends on the manufacturing i guess, ive had some i thought i was gunna break to take out of the case and some that have almost fallen into my arms

I had four Steelbooks shipped by Future Shop online and three arrived as floaters. Man, was I p*ssed.

I was able to exchange two Steelbooks at my local store but they did not have the third title in stock and gave me back my money.

i think the floaters had more to do with Canada Post then the Steelbook holders themselves.

I had a loose disc in my Texas Chainsaw Massacre steelbook, but I ordered that pne online, so it could have been from shipping. My keep case of Leatherface was also loose in that same shipment.

Don't blame Canada Post for the crappy way that Futureshop.ca sends out the package. They send it out on cardboard envelopes with no protective bubble sheet. They should follow the example of Amazon.ca and Amazon.com, now that's a company that knows how to package items correctly.

Ya, Futureshop does that. But for multiple DVDs they usually put bubble wrap inside the cardboard. Still.. Amazon does way better in packaging.
