Need a list of R1 DVDs that come with lobby cards/mini-posters
Just curious as to how many sets there are out there (Region 1 only) and this includes exclusive store-releases and OOP sets (Like the Warner Bros Collector series, i.e. Matrix,Bullit,Twister,Wizard of Oz,Blade Runner, etc)
I only own: V for Vendetta - Two-Disc Special Edition (Best Buy Exclusive Gift Set) Jungle Holocaust - Special Edition Cinema Paradiso - Limited Collector's Edition King Kong Collection/Collector's Edition Tin (Best Buy Exclusive Gift Set) To Kill a Mockingbird - Universal Legacy Series Enter the Dragon - Limited Edition Collector's Set The Good,The Bad,and The Ugly-Special Edition |
I think the Hellraiser and Evil Dead 2 tins from AB had posters. I think I also got some posters and cards w/ the Astaire and Rogers 10 movie set i recently purchased.

Poseidon Adventure, The - Special Edition (1972) - lobby cards

If you bought Sin City (the original release) at CC they gave a pack of 5 mini-posters.
I assume you mean posters that would fit in the dvd case (approximately) and not lithos like CC gave out for the Star Wars limited editions, or The Incredibles at BB. |
Forbidden Planet SE (TIN)
|
Subversive's SE of The Candy Snatchers has some really high quality lobby card photo reprints.
|
I'm not gonna bother typing them all, but if you search on Amazon for "Limited Edition Collector's Set" you'll get a bunch of those Warner sets that had lobby cards. There's at least a Blazing Saddles set in addition to what you already mentioned.

Ben-Hur
The Time Machine(1960) Criterion The Blob has mini poster but not reproduction of the original poster |

King Kong
Wizard of Oz |
IIRC The Towering Inferno SE has lobby cards.
|
Simpsons Season 9 includes postcards of Simpsons characters in musical album type artwork, very cool.
Also, The Departed Steelbook edition (exclusive at BB and Futureshop) has 4 mini-posters. |
Walk the Line Special Edition came with four.
|
Well, I'm not exactly sure what would qualify, but the following had one-sided inserts that were thicker than the average chapter list, and featured original poster art:
Nuns on the Run Clockwise Black Moon Rising ...plus the Deluxe Edition of Spider-Man 2 came with a few postcards, and there was some film I can't remember that came with a couple of miniature promo stills. I think it was one of the Men In Black films, does that ring a bell with anyone? |
Jackie Brown came with a mini poster
Pulp Fiction came with a souvenir 'jack rabbit slims' menu |
The Limited Collector's Edition of Cinema Paradiso and one of the foreign releases of 2046 come to mind.
|
Looks like whoever did it realized their gaffe and deleted the post, but I wanted to say for the record that I never claimed any of the titles I listed were anamorphic, and the OP never mentioned that as a criterion (yes, that's where the name came from). What I'm referring to is that someone came in here a while back and said "yeah, but title x is not anamorphic", or something to that effect. Really hung up on that around here, aren't we? ;)
