Will I damage the case when opening it?
I just got a DVD that comes in a "snapper" case. (see this page for a picture of case types: http://www.andreas-lenz.de/dvd/casetypes/index.php)
I noticed that security tape has been placed along the top edge and the right side of the case, and the tape is touching the cardboard part of the case. I'm wondering if the cardboard part might get damaged when I try to remove the tape? It would really suck if that happens. |
i have hundreds of them and never had any trouble removing the security stickers. Once I had a cover rip off in a two pack, becuase of the big red sticker that held them together...

The stickers are usually light on the really sticky side, but proceed with caution and care and take your time making sure it comes off ok. Thanks for the site link, nice to see The Last Boy Scout snapper there, IMO a snapper staple among them all for region 1.

I have only had problem with one- Human Nature. The cardboard part of most snappers have matte finish, Human Nature had a glossy finish, I think that is what caused the problem.
|
I've had the sticker pull off a strip of the cover a few times with snappers. If the disc has been sitting around for a long time sealed (like mine were), this may be an issue with the glue.

you can tell if its gonna rip it the moment you try and take it off. it's not rocket science.
|
Just leave it sealed. It's the only way to be sure.

use like a paper clip or blade to cut it. the tape will stay on the top of the cardboard artwork, and the white title on the top will remain. it's possible to keep it on, except for the one that is on the side with the door. those peel off easy though.
