DVD Packages: How to make them attractive?

Hi everyone!

If the DVD is about art work how should it be covered or packaged?

I’m asking this because there are people who are not that much of an art-lover but then I would also want to share some nice art crafts to them. On the other hand, there are art-obsessed people who are picky that by just looking at the cover of one’s package they will immediately decide whether or not to turn it down or to tag along.

Help guys. Thank you very much.

I'm thinking they should come in black plastic cases. And those cases should have a clear plastic lining on the outside that you can slip artwork under. And the artwork should be full of pretty pictures.

Now that would be an awesome DVD! ;)

I can't think of too many people that would immediately decide based on looking at the cover of someone's package whether to turn it down or to tag along. Some people like to get to know the guy first. ;)

If I want the movie, I'll get it. The art/packaging doesn't make a difference to me at all.

The content is the most important thing (who the heck would do without something they want to watch because the artwork sucks???), but I do see covers that make me want to puke. Chief among them would be the 2004 STAR WARS set (individual covers, not the box or the discs) and Yellowbeard. Still, I wouldn't pass them up just because of the artwork. I should also mention that redone covers like 48 Hrs/Another 48 Hrs make me sick, too.

I agree with what has already been said. The content is more important and just because I do not like the artwork it would not influence my buying decision. With that being said, if I were trying to decide whether or not to make a blind buy it would have some influence. If the cover looks cheap I would assume the movie is cheap.
