Training Day has not been rereleased in a keepcase.

However, you can buy a used copy at Hollywood Video with a keepcase.

I saw Nightmare on Elm Street III: Dream Warriors in a keepcase at Target on Sunday. It was on the end cap of cheap movies heading back towards the toy department.

Does this thing EVER get updated???

Thanks for the info... that's the final New Line one I have yet to replace. (Well, that and Dark City, but since there's a new DC edition coming out soon, I'm waiting...)

The first post hasn't been updated w/ Don Juan DeMarco yet.

Is Nightmare on Elm Street 1 & 3 the only ones in keepcases?

darkhawk 06-13-06 01:45 PM

Just found LAST MAN STANDING starring Bruce Willis and MOST WANTED starring Keenen Ivory Wayans & Jon Voight in keepcases

alfonsosoriano 06-13-06 01:52 PM

I hate how one of my favorite movies, Creepshow, is a freaking snapper.

:(

I would love to get my hands on that in a keepcase.

They are originals. Find Pilot Truck Stops, that's where The Cell and Most Wanted are. Last Man Standing, I found at Walmart

NoirFan 06-13-06 07:46 PM

Anyone know if Gaslight and The Postman Always Rings Twice (original) are snappers?

darkhawk 06-15-06 03:06 PM

Both are still snappers

gryffinmaster 06-20-06 02:44 PM

I've read in a thread or two that Mortal Kombat was released in a keepcase. Can anyone at all say  or  to this?

Also add to the "Hollywood Video" list:

Two Weeks Notice
Looney Tunes: Back In Action

...and speaking of HV, they also had a one-piece cover for I, Robot if you prefer it that way (i.e., instead of Will Smith being on the plastic slipcase and the cover just being a bunch of robots). I personally have Disc 2 of the "All Access" version along with one of the inserts (from the All-Access version I think) and the single disc from the original release in a clear 2-disc Scanavo keep case with HV's one-piece cover, and it works quite well for me.

Anybody else put together "Frankendisc" packages by picking and choosing discs from different releases? I've also done this with T2 (Disc 1: XtremeDVD / Disc 2: Ultimate), although to trade in the cast-offs, you need to find somewhere like a flea market where they don't scrutinize the discs that closely.

Speaking of converting snappers to keepcases, I've been able to get Lethal Weapon 2 and You've Got Mail in keepcases by purchasing so-called "Asian imports" of those titles. They seem pretty close to the real deal, and of course you can always replace the discs with originals. The covers probably aren't quite the quality of real keepcase covers, but they've got to be better than inkjet-printed ones.

On a completely unrelated note, how often do you really expect to see those two titles in the same DVD collection? ;)

 Yes, I found Mortal Kombat in a keepcase at Walmart. But the second one, I haven't found yet.

This post is for Region 1 dvds only.

Ughh ... thanks for the confirm, darkhawk.

Now ... anybody got a keepcase copy they'd want to unload? ;) Because I know my Local WM - and a few others I checked on a trip around that $4.88 sale - didn't.

Well yeah, that's what I'm talking about! These "Asian Imports" are basically just bootlegs, so they're almost always region-free. The artwork is usually identical to the official R1 DVDs, just that it's a keep case instead of a snapper. Anyway, if you really want to split an already-split hair, go ahead. I'm just offering another suggestion for avoiding snappers, which is what I thought this thread was about.

Just found Warner Bros. MY DOG SKIP in a keepcase at Best Buy. The pictures on the front and back cover aren't the same, but the features are. It's not a SE.

To confirm in a B&M, Borders had The Cell in a keepcase - right next to 2 snappers. What's a shame is that it doesn't have the raised gold lettering like on the snapper. If snappers didn't get bunked so easily, I'd probably l,ike to lean towards that spine, just cause it's cool.

For what it's worth, I've noticed that BLOCKBUSTER has a keepcase cover for "Spies Like Us", although it's highly unlikely any store would sell their copy. Unfortunately, it's not on the box you actually get to take home.

If anybody else has seen this and can get me one, it would be greatly appreciated!

Father of the Bride (1950) on 08/29

Mister Roberts (Keepcase) (1955) 09/19

High Sierra (Keepcase) (1941) 10/3

Blockbuster and Hollywood Video occassionally get special keepcase versions of snapper titles as exclusives. Occassionally they sell them as PV copies, but for an older film like Spies Like Us, they likely only got the one copy. The ones that you can typically find are ones from the past few years that they got hundreds of copies of when they were still New Releases and are still trying to sell off. Stuff like Mystic River, Blood Work, A Mighty Wind, Miss Congeniality, etc. All of those are ones I still come across here and there. Recently I actually found a couple older titles like Lethal Weapon - so it pays to check, I guess.
