Nowhere yet ... still considering the options I have for making em publically available.

Michael Corvin 01-22-05 08:57 AM

CSI and Dark Angel both look great. Keep 'em coming. :) How are multiple spines going to look on CSI?

Scaramanga 01-22-05 09:07 AM

Will post a preview of the first 4 seasons combined when I've made all 4 covers.

I'm fascinated on how you've managed to get all of the show logos so clean (.eps logos?), and even used fonts that look exactly like the ones used on the shows. The color pallette rocks too.

Scaramanga 01-23-05 02:36 PM

Thx :D

For most of the series them I've been able to find either a Font type or EPS so far ... so that made recreating the logo at hi-res rather easy. For some however I had to redraw them from scratch and apply effects where needed, for example the MacGyver logo. It's the only way to get decent results. :)

My pleasure.

It's great when you can find a show font that's accurate and clean enough to stand up to high res viewing. This is where I wish I could afford Fontlab or Fontagrapher - if I can't find a font or EPS, I would try to scan and create a quick font for the logo, or build a basic alphabet for use on the cover.

Maybe someday, but I'm quite a few pennies away. :)

(MacGyver was from scratch? Sweet!)

Click here for a bigger preview of the MacGyver logo ;-)

Looks awful. -ptth-

Seriously, the logo looks fantastic and if it I hadn't been told, I would have thought it was the actual logo.

Go ahead. Pat yerself on the back. :D

Scaramanga 01-23-05 03:45 PM

Oh well, I enjoy doing these covers and I guess that's what really matters ;-)

GaryEA 01-23-05 03:48 PM

Couldn't agree more.

I enjoy it as well, and it's challenging. I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Is the Law & Order b/g image the same as the NYPD image?

Law & Order finished !

First post updated with Las Vegas.

Hmm ... I'm thinking the logo could be a bit brighter, from:

Any thoughts on this ?

Michael Corvin 01-25-05 10:47 AM

Scara where are you finding such hi-res images to use for the spine?

Scaramanga 01-25-05 11:01 AM

Google mostly ... but because of the radial gradient and the overlay colour the images don't really have to be high-res or razor-sharp ... that being said this one was 3000 by .... pixels though.

Chances of finding real images going from 6000 to 9000 pixels wide are pretty slim I think :)
