JFK - theatrical version

Has the theatrical version of JFK ever been released in the US on DVD or VHS? Everything I've read suggests that the director's cut only added material, but I swear I remember several short scenes not included in the director's cut, such as Cuban soldiers taking target practice on a watermelon and testing the magic bullet theory by shooting into a mass of gelatin.

I have only seen the theatrical version once, but I do not ever recall such footage.

I love the Directors Cut though, great film and this is one longer cut that works beautifully.

Oh..and only the Directors Cut has been released on dvd. I don't even know if a widescreen version of the theatrical were ever released. Maybe on laserdisc,I know the WS VHS was of the Directors Cut.

I don't recall the footage either. The only time I've ever seen someone shooting a watermelon was the Black Gallagher sketch on "Chappelle's Show."

I don't recall the watermellon incident either in the directors cut. Imdb doesn't list list but that doesn't mean it didn't happen in the movie.

Yes, the theatrical cut was released on laserdisc in 2.35:1 letterbox (non-anamorphic).
