No, too wide (or "deep," if you start at the spine). I'm reminded of the Australian box set, which put each disc in its own Keepcase.
I'm stumped!
Did you e-mail DDD to get the skinny?
Not that I'd rebuy the set(s) for new packaging-- I've already replaced them with Dr. Michael Miskulin's "Red Book" designs. If you haven't seen them, you're really missing out.

It says "The Complete First Season on DVD" on the cover, so it's probably not video cassettes.
Also note in the description:
The first season is twelve eps, not thirteen.
It almost looks like a box from a different region.
Also note in the description:
The entire first season (13 episodes on 3 DVDs) of television series BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.

You know, I'm not even certain if I just dreamed it at this point, but I could have sworn that, a few months ago, I saw on some forum something about re-releasing all the Buffy and Angel sets in those slim cases like the Firefly set. I've gone back over all the forums I post and lurk at, and I can't find anything.
Has anybody else seen anything about this?

I'd be pissed too - but happy for future purchasers of those sets.
FOX really hit a winner with the Firefly set IMHO. I was glad to see it arrive looking like the packaging for the Kids in the Hall S1 set. SO MUCH EASIER to get to each disc and so LESS LIKELY to break like the current Angel\Buffy\X-Files packaging.

If Fox's releases the Buffy/Angel sets again, they should do more than change the packaging... maybe go in and give commentaries to episodes that didn't get them, and need them (prophecy girl, nightmares, angel, when she was bad, passion, surprise, becoming, prom, wish, anne, the gift, and so on) and maybe the deleted scenes Joss talks about...
