Where to find movie figurines and/or action figures?

I'm looking for some cool figurines to put on my DVD towers but all I can find is the stuff at Toys 'r Us, Target, Wal-Mart, etc.

I've seen alot of cool MacFarlane stuff and Lord of the Rings stuff. Are there any good websites that sell movie themed action figures? I'd like something from Underworld and some Terminator stuff. I did pick up an Arnold figurine from T3 the other day. I'm also looking for a cool Nightcrawler figurine.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Some of the well known toy figures/statues/etc makers are:

sideshowtoy.com
necaonline.com
palisadestoys.com
mcfarlane.com

Be sure to check those 4 sites out. Really cool stuff there.

suncoast at the mall is a good place to look around, not the best prices but you can at least see what you like.

Thanks for all the posts everyone. I found a site with a bunch of links to sites at http://palisadestoys.com/new/storedown.php

Maybe some of you would like to check it out too. Thanks again.

Edit...link fixed.

Action figures from movies are must haveadditions to any great home theater set-up IMO. I love that I have a horde of Crazy 88s surrounding Jack Burton or that I have Robert Davi fighitng Chow-Yun Fat.

Also a great place to find them at perhaps a lower price is your local comic book store.

Yes, I agree. I've got a 12" Spider-man, Darth Maul, and a Shrek figure right now. I've got a 12" Wolverine and a T3 Arnold figurine on the way as well. I really like the Kill Bill figures so I'm thinking about picking them up. Also looking into some Matrix figures, The Crow, and Austin Powers. I haven't been able to find anything for Underworld, but I doubt there's been any made.

There definitely were, my store had them all. Two series I believe of Underworld figures. They were really bad though.

I go to my local model store and buy the kits, and make them myself. Also picked up a few on ebay, but as they usually weigh quite a bit the postage to NZ is a bit of a killer.

I've got these built up on the DVD shelving at the moment;
1/6 Alien crouching
1/6 Standing Predator, mask off
1/5 T-800
1/6 Judge Anderson
1/8 Battle Angel Alita
1/? ID4 Alien (don't know what I was thinking here, I hated the movie).
1/72 Space 1999 Eagle transporter -does this count?

And these are on the 'to do list';
1/1 T-800 skull
1/72 Aerial Hunter Killer
1/6 Catwoman crawling
1/6 Emma Peel (Diana Rigg)
1/6 Emma Peel/Alter ego (Uma) Hated that movie too.

On the way right now;
1/6 Battle Angel Alita 're-birth'

By the way nonametofame, your crow figure is very nice. Is it an action figure or pre-painted statue?

cheers
Richard

I myself prefer the cold case figures. I have G'kar (Babylon5), Flukeman and Alien (X-files), Aeon Flux, John Constantine (Hellraiser), Alien Queen (Aliens), Dream (DC's Sandman), Darkness (comic figure), Cthulhu (HP Lovecraft charactor)... :)

Mr. Cinema 07-12-04 07:42 AM

Check Spencer Gift's. They carry Hellraiser, Kill Bill, Matrix, McFarlane Monsters III and will be getting Alien vs. Predator figures next month.

Thanks, I fixed it.

I did see some Underworld figures on eBay but they didn't have any good close up pics of them. I think there were only a handful to choose from.

Sideshow is one of my favourite toy companies. Their sculpts are amazing. I have most of their 12" Universal Monster figures, some of their 007 ones, and am eagerly awaiting their 12" Planet of the Apes figures due out this fall.

I've always found movie related figures at places like Mediaplay. Also, toy or comic conventions are great places to find stuff, old and current. And of course there is always the evil Ebay. ;)

Wow! :eek:

That's one of, if not THE, most realistic looking figures I've ever seen. I've got to get one.

'kin awesome! When will it be released?

Mr. Cinema 07-13-04 10:07 AM

I think this comes out in Sept or Oct. The new 18" Michael Myers is also Oct. Don't forget there is a 2-pack of The Crow coming out in a few weeks, similar to the Freddy v. Jason style.

I know McFarlane is king, but NECA is definitely putting out some great product (Freddy vs. Jason set, 18" Freddy and 18" Jason, Kill Bill Figures, 18" Pinhead)

Pelayu 07-13-04 02:11 PM

where can I buy NECA figures on-line? (excluding amazon)

Lecithin 07-13-04 02:43 PM

I absolutely agree about action figures and DVDs in the Home Theater. I took these photos

DVD/Action figure photos

of the collection last year but have not updated to reflect the new box sets and figures for The Pink Panther yet or the Monster Legacy busts to go great with the DVDs or the Looney Tunes, South Park, Disney DVD/Figures or Mr. Creosote figure and new release of Meaning of Life that came out, but I think I will need more shelves soon.

fryinpan1 07-14-04 01:31 PM

I started getting into figures as well to display around my DVD collection. I can usually find new ones much cheaper on Ebay as opposed to online toy stores.
