Its a good price considering the lowest online is $67, I, however have never seen any of the films so I can't offer my opinion on them.

I personally love Bergman's style, so 5 movies + 1 bonus disc and tons of extras is a good deal for $67.
Retail is $112.95 so you'd be saving a good deal too.

But if there's a certain title you don't like, then buy them individually.

Is this the MGM box set or the Criterion three-film set? The MGM ones are available seperately, so you could save cash by getting only the ones you want. I paid $8 for Persona at Borders.

I saw a thread either here or over at home theater forum about a month ago regarding the accessibility of this set to a newbie. The general agreement was that these films (the MGM set) is not an ideal jumping-in point for new viewers, but if you're familiar with some of Bergman's previous work, like "Seventh Seal" and "Wild Strawberries", then by all means go for this.

I paid $76 for my set, with most of the titles sight-unseen, and now, more than halfway through it, do not regret spending that much money at all. Just make sure you're getting the corrected versions.

Thanks for the advice. Just ordered it. They have it for sale at dvdempire and then I used a coupon on top of it. Thanks!

If you need to ask, I'd say it's not worth it to you.

What is the sale at DVDEmpire? I see they have this set marked at $67.86. Is that the sale price? And what is the coupon good for--and could you post the coupon code? I've been wanting this set pretty badly but waiting for a good deal on it.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it.

Firstly - Daniel Windsor, I was basically asking if that's good price.

Sanzrigel- It's currently 40% off at dvdempire and then I used the $5 off $50 coupon you can find in the bargains section here.

Thanks to those who helped out.

Picked it up for $62 when DDD had it's 20% off sale. Definitely worth it!
