Anyone else want the 3 hour cut of needful things on dvd?

I remember watching it on tbs in 1996. It added a few characters and was much closer to the spirit of the book.
Although I do like the short version, you can't help but feel that it lacks depth when in comparison to the longer version.

Anyone else want to see the the director's 3 hour cut make it to dvd?

Not sure if I'd buy it, as it's been too long since I've seen Needful Things, but I'd definitely give it a rental.

Yes I would definitely get this on dvd if the uncensored longer version of the film were released.

The tv editing is really bad in some spots for language and violence, lol. But still the added scenes do make the film far better in my opinion.

I never finished the book when I first read it as a kid,was halfway through it,then my parents threw it out since the teachers at school were spouting off paranoia of "that is flithy trash that will corrupt his mind,it is not appropriate for his age and will not be allowed in school!".

But now years later,my aunt knowing I love horror was giving away plenty of her books, one of which was Needful Things. So one day I will finish this book(after the pile I am going through now is completed, which may be awhile).

The other night I watched the existing DVD release for the first time ever. I usually like Stephen King stuff but this was really average. So no, I don't want a 3 hour cut.

I really liked the book, but didn't care for the movie. I'd pass on a longer version.

I did that at the Matrix, luckily i only wasted $1

I'd buy a Longer version on Needful Things, i thought it was good.

I always thought this was one of the better Stephen King adaptations. It left out an awful lot from the book, but it was still decent. Any extra material would definitely be welcomed, so count me in if it's ever released.

No thanks - it was painful enough at 2 hours.

This is the only movie in my life that I can say I've actually read the book and haven't seen the movie.

I'd watch it, just because I haven't seen either version.

I'd LOVE it!

And come on, all you nay-sayers, it's got Ed Harris, Max Von Sydow, and the most delicious performance in the much-too-short career of J. T. Walsh...stop yer hatin'...

I would buy it. I think most of the great King adaptations are the Mini-Series and a 3-Hour Needful Things would probally be pretty decent.

Definitely. Having read the book, I was disappointed it lacked the depth of the book in a major way. This made it feel boring, but I knew the original story had so much going on. They just gloss over everything in the movie.
