What are some feature-packed DVDs?

What are some DVDs that you recommend because of the extras? A great documentary, lots of (good) commentaries, just full of extras?

Let's get some out of the way:
- All LOTR DVD's
- The Alien Quadrilogy

How about these Disney 2-disc Collector's Editions:

Atlantis - The Lost Empire
A Bug's Life
Dinosaur
The Emperor's New Groove
Tarzan

I wish Disney would've continued the rest of their animated movies in the same vein instead of packing the discs with fluff.

Do the Right Thing CC
In the Mood for Love CC
The 3rd Man CC
Any of the Warner Classics 2-diskers.

From Dusk Till Dawn is one of my most favorite feature packed dvds. Quality features ranging from an excellent commentary to an even better full length feature documentary. Also included Deleted scenes, extra featurettes, f/x work, outtakes that rock, trailers, and more. Just an all around great dvd, except for the lack of a non-anamorphic transfer.

A lot of the Kevin Smith movies like Dogma and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back have tons of extras,Dogma has over a 100 minutes of deleted scenes, thats gotta be some kinda friggin DVD record lol

You can not beat the Alien Quadrilogy...
To bad we won't be able to say "Wait for Friday the 13th" because, I bet if paramount would have actually went into their vaults, we could easily say that.

superdeluxe 06-19-04 10:18 PM

Gladiator 2 disc
Seabiscuit 2 disc
The Last Samaurai 2 disc

reiterate the 3 disc BHD, as well as the kevin Smith dvds. Dogma and Jay and silent bob especially is packed full with goodies.

Just making an educated guess that D-Ball is referring to John Carpenter's "The Thing" with Kurt Russell. That DVD does have a lot of extra's and a great commentary track.

1951's "The Thing from Another World" (AKA "The Thing") produced and mostly directed by Howard Hawks is also on DVD. Except for a trailer, it has no special features. It's a great film tho and the DVD is a restored version that includes scenes that had been trimmed out of previous releases to VHS and LD.
