what do you hate most about dvds?
i hate that you always gotta keep em safe or in a case. im not a very tidy person, and something i really liked about vhs was how you could just throw it across the room when you were done.

That circle in the middle.
Umm...their collectability. And the fact that there are websites devoted to them that promote collecting.
The inevitability that another format will one day replace them. :(
Ones that aren't anamorphic and/or OAR.
The fact we have to pay for them. :grunt:
for me, the Re-re-re-release of em  they did that with LD (which is worse i think due to its prices) :) |
Double dipping......they should get it right the first time.
Understandable for the very old releases, but you gotta be joking with the new ones. At least give the consumer a choice (thumbs up for the LOTR trilogy). |
The fact that I can't melt 'em down and inject 'em directly into my veins.
My name is CK, and I'm a DVD addict. ;) |
That I don't have enough time to watch all the ones I want to.
The fact that you are usually blocked from fast forwarded or skipping past all of the introductory stuff before getting to the DVD menue (FBI warnings and the like). It takes about a minute to load a DVD, whereas you can play a CD in three seconds.
This isn't a big issue when just playing a movie, but when doing demos, or trying to trouble shoot a problem, or trying to do comparisons between movies, it is a real PITA. |
I fully understand the reasoning but I hate region-coding.
The fact that I can't stop purchasing them.
Seriously. |

Opening a brand new one, all those damn theft seals...
that i dont get them for free
Floaters.
or ones that say Directed by Spielberg on them |
The fact that they take up space!!....and that you begin to think you need to sell your house..not because of an expanding family...but because the spare room is now no longer big enough to house your collection :D
-They can only hold a certain amount of data. (isnt it about 4 hrs?)
-Layer changes. |

That the current crop of DVDs will look like crap when Blu-Ray becomes main stream and replacing it as the standard. Then I'd have to repurchase all my triple dipped DVDs. Damn you movie studios.
the fact that no matter how great a disc is there will always be someone bitching about it.
the fact that I have over 1600 DVDs and half of them are all the Army Of Darkness and Halloween rereleases. :D
The fact that seeing my dvd collection makes me realize how much I have spent could have gone to my life savings.
