Blind Buy TV Shows?

I just wondering if anyone else out there has found really wonderful TVshows by blind-buying the DVDs.

Myself I have found alot of wonderful Series, by blind-buying the DVDs. Felicity Season 1 is where it stared, almost two years ago and from there I Blindly bought Friends Season 1, Alias Season 1, and most recently nip/tuck season 1. Although those only make up a fraction of my tvshowsondvd collection, I am glad that I purchased then, and now I know that TV on DVD is the perfect way to come into a sereis late.

I was fixing to start a new thread, but I will just post my question here. With the upcoming DDD sale tomorrow, I need some blind buy advice. I am in need of a new TV show to watch, so what are some recommendations??

I already have these shows (every season):
Buffy
Angel
Smallville
CSI
Dawson's Creek
Dark Angel
South Park
Family Guy
Roswell
Firefly
Band of Brothers
24
Alias
Married with Children
The Shield
Nip/Tuck
Playmakers

I was considering Gilmore Girls, Party of Five, West Wing, Sports Night, Sopranos and Felicity.

What are some must have shows to add to my collection?

I definitely recommend WW and Sops out of the ones you are considering. I don't see Simpsons or Futurama on your currently-own list - I definitely recommend those.

You can never go wrong with "Gilmore Girls,"

But "party of five" and "Felicity" are highly recamended as well...

Just note that Gilmore Girls and Felicity season 1 are VERY light on special features.

Yeah I blind bought Monty Python's Flying Circus 14-DVD Complete Set about a year ago. I'm pleased with it (although not even close to finishing it all yet)

Sports Night is a great series to own, though I have to admit that I only watched them once since I bought them. GG is good too, and it's probably going to be the next TV box set I pick up.

I don't see Freaks and Geeks in your collection--that is definitely a must-own. I bought the regular retail set when it came out, was completely smitten by it, then ordered the Yearbook edition.

I blind bought Alias season one first day of release and have been hooked ever since. I'm hoping that at the start of season 4, I will finally be able to watch it on TV since I now have a Tivo.

Recently (about a month ago), I bought Stargate SG-1 Season 1 after after only seeing the movie. I now own six seasons (all of the ones currently on DVD) and I'm completely hooked. Season 1 is actually mediocre compared to the other seasons. Season 2 is when it really picks up. I couldn't be happier. I would also recommend "Firefly", another blind buy for me that really turned out positive.

Cheers.

24 Season 1. It was the first blind buy I ever bought but I'm really glad I did. AMAZING and extremely addictive show. Still not sure why I spent $50 on a blind buy but I think it was mostly because Elisha Cuthbert is in it

Another vote for Firefly! After watching it, I was disappointed about so many loose ends left hanging. Now I can't wait for the Serenity movie to come out next year!
