Can someone confirm a new Rounders DVD release?

Bestbuy shows that a new version is available for preorder with a ship date in September. I did a search here but couldn't come up with anything. Can someone confirm if this is in fact going to happen? I want to pick up the film but will wait if the release is scheduled within the next few months.

Thanks,
Mike

an SE of this movie would be nice. I knew I had been holding off on buying this for some reason ;)

Looks like a new version and not a price drop since it's the same (14.99) for both versions. I love this movie.

no one can confirm the details of the new version though eh? wonder if i should just go buy it...

any major complaints with the current version that's out?

I highly doubt a new version is on the way
I do credit the studio however for advertising this catalog dvd during the Travel Channel's World Poker Tournament

maybe the new listing is a new cover with a quote about the World Poker Tournament on it or the current version packaged together with some other poker related video. Studios have a way about reissuing the same thing over and over for little reason other than to capture repeat sales.

no complaints whatsoever with the current version
it is a must buy if you don't have it

It's non-anamorphic and as far as I know barebones.

I hope a new version is on the way, I think its deserves an upgrade.

My friend mentioned he saw it advertised during last night's WPT. You would think since poker is so popular now that Miramax would make a special edition. Excellent movie by the way.

Barnes & Noble has it on their site too:

the UPC number is different from the current edition.

Most likley a re-packaging. I've been meaning to pick it up for awhile... I can hold off a little longer just in case it is a new version. But yes... definitley needs a special edition.

I know for a fact that a SE is on its way, and in fact they had Chris Moneymaker in LA recording material for bonus features.

Mind telling us how you know for a fact? I'd imagine it's because "they had Chris Moneymaker in LA recording material for bonus features".

But how did you come by that info?

Well, I hope so, sooner or later, as I recently dumped my R4 anamorphic release in hopes of one appearing soon.

This definitely needs a SE, as well as another early Edward Norton classic, Primal Fear!

REL77 06-11-04 10:49 AM

I would definitly Buy a New SE... A Commentary on this movie would be amazing

I would love an SE of this film. Me and my friends often go into Teddy quotes now and again. :)

It now showed up on DavisDVD as "Rounders: SE" so it's definitely coming out on 9/7! Sweet!

Of course a SE is on it's way! I just got the barebones edition.
Such is life
