Torque - Bad Picture?
 

By bad picture I mean the image quality. No puns please. :) Did anyone else find that the first third of Torque looked a bit faded or washed out? It's not quite like an old film print or something, but more like a very light white fuzz over the screen. I don't know if it was intentional because the image becomes more vivid as the movie goes on. Overall though, it seemed that it would be the kind of MTV style film with SUPER sharp & vivid photography, like you would see on a Michael Bay movie. Instead, the photography looks a little desaturated. Was it like that in the theaters?

I watched the DVD a few nights ago. I don't recall seeing a fuzzy picture or anything out of the ordinary.

I thought the DVD looked pretty darn good!

I asked the very same question when watching the DVD too. According to my computer, the disc is basically a single layered disc once you remove the french audio track, so maybe the lower bitrate of the film has resulted in that look.

Personally, I believe the look of the movie was probably intentional... at least that would be more logical, anyway :p

Since the whole movie is only 81 minutes long, a dvd-5 is sufficient to keep a high bitrate (around 6.5 Kbps).

Yeah, but throw in a couple of commentaries and a handful of bonus features and that DVD-5 will get smaller and smaller ;)

yeah...horrible picture...about a 1/10, what a crappy flick :)
