Any plans for Office Season 3?

Hello,
Anyone heard anything? I tried to see if I could find something but was unable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

dyerjp 06-06-04 02:23 PM

well, they stopped making the show after season 2, except for the christmas episodes that are being released soon on r2 dvd.

thelwig14 06-06-04 02:35 PM

Thanks. I just did not know if they had plans to do any more seasons. They left it in the open at the end of the second.

GuessWho 06-06-04 02:45 PM

They left it open?

Spoiler:
david was fired. the end.

ThatGuamGuy 06-06-04 02:48 PM

I've known people who thought that

Spoiler:
David's speech might've convinced Jennifer and/or Neil to give him one more chance.

Personally, I think people who think that have been watching too many American sitcoms...

But, then again, the Christmas episodes does give new sets of resolutions to things, which is why they're so cool.

thawtz 06-06-04 02:55 PM

On the website they stated that there'd be no more. Speaking of the site, did anyone get the easter eggs to work on R1 or were they just on R2 or am I just using a player not up to snuff (zoom player)?

MrX 06-06-04 03:02 PM

Yeah, it's over

Gervis is working on his next project right now

Dazed 06-06-04 03:04 PM

yeah, you need to see the xmas special for the resolution.

Althougth I would have loved to see more, I think they were right to finish after 2 amazing seasons. Who know maybe we will get another xmas special in the future (im not counting on it though)

You know that's what's nice about the BBC series sometimes-they quit while they're ahead instead of pounding a series into the ground a la US networks.

Except for Ab Fab, of course. They ended it at a good "quit while we're ahead" point, and then they brought it back. Again, and again, and again.

Meanwhile, Coupling Season 4 is commencing without the "Jeff" character.

Very much enjoyed both seasons of the office and the xmas specials. As much as I enjoyed it, I'm glad they ended where they did while it was still amusing.

And speaking of AbFab;), after the 4th series, I thought they'd gone on too long; however, I thought the 5th series had some extremely funny bits to it so I'm still looking forward to any future series they want to do.

They were smart to end the series while still on top.
:)

reservoirdog 06-06-04 08:56 PM

Any word on whether the specials will make their way to Region 1 DVD? I downloaded them, but the picture quality isn't so hot.

Dazed 06-06-04 09:07 PM

Released Oct 25 in UK so probably will make it to Region 1 eventually (possible US xmas release maybe??).

Actually, it's not the end...the Christmas special wraps up these characters nicely...it's a satisfying conclusion.

BBC America is showing Season 4 now, premiered last night.

Jeff isn't totally gone. Someone gets a phone call from him in the first episode. I don't think he'll be back, but they didn't kill him off or anything. So, he may return if they go to season 5.

And Oliver, his replacement, is pretty much Jeff, except he runs a sci-fi / comic shop called HELLMOUTH.

But Jeff isn't even mentioned in the next three episodes. He's gone.

And Oliver sucks, I miss Jeff.

Martin Freeman is as well, he is filming on The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, for which he plays the part of Arthur Dent. I'm eagerly awaiting its release.

That's the one where the rapper is playing Ford Prefect, right? Ugh.

Not that I'm not all about equal opportunity employment, but wasn't Ford a white guy in the book? I mean, REALLY white, like, described as being particularly pasty, even for an Englishman?

GuessWho 06-07-04 03:22 PM

BTW, this should be in TV Talk

So what? It's acting. Gibson cast a white man as Jesus Christ and hardly anyone said a thing.

I'd still like to know it the easter eggs from the site are on the R1 version. Anyone?

ArchibaldTuttle 06-07-04 11:00 PM

I liked the way it ended, and am looking forward to whatever Gervais is cooking up

Shannon Nutt 06-08-04 04:45 AM

Anyone who watched "Something The Lord Made" on HBO should realize that Mos Def is a pretty good actor.

BasiaMille 06-08-04 05:59 AM

Mos Def...

Only a matter of time before, like The Fresh Prince before him, Mos Def drops his hip-hop nom de plume and uses his birth name for total legitimacy.

Let's just hope he makes better pictures than Will Smith. Had such high hopes after Six Degrees of Separation...
