Some quick Bad(der) Santa info

Just got a chance to watch this one, just wanted to confirm that the "unrated" cut of Bad Santa is another Universal-style fake-unrated.

I noticed a few new scenes and small additions to existing ones, about 5 minutes or so... I haven't seen the original in a few months, so I can't really break it down too well. However, none of the additional footage was racy or shocking, just some extra stuff. I love the movie, so it's great to have an extended cut, but just wanted to warn anybody who might be hoping for disney to finally relax their unrated rule. Maybe next time...

Yeah, this was discussed on another thread. As long as it's longer, that's cool.

I was under the impression there would be full on penetration shots.

No?

Tarantino 06-06-04 06:36 AM

I thought there was a scene where Billy Bob peed in her butt...

Sorry Tarantino, that is incorrect. That happens in The Alamo! Please, check your facts next time. Sheesh!

Again, another incorrect statement. This happened in Armageddon. Billy Bob thought he would be over doing it if he did it in this film.

So. So. Wrong.

So, it seems that the unrated cut will not have a commentary but the theatrical cut will. Universal is making us choose....or trying to sucker us in to buy both.

wastro 06-09-04 01:04 PM

That's pretty lame that they aren't offering the "unrated" cut with the extras.

DarthMarino 06-09-04 01:19 PM

The unrated cut will have the deleted scenes and outtakes as well as some small behind the scenes thing. I believe the tribute to John Ritter is only on the theatrical version.

Has Universal burned people so badly that was assign blame to them with every unrated release?

What commentary? Here are the official specs on both discs from Buena Vista, no commentaries are mentioned at all, nor is there any information on a John Ritter tribute.

Unrated Information from Buena Vista:

U.S. Rating: Not Rated
Approximate Run Time: 98 minutes
Bonus Feature(s): • Deleted And Alternate Scenes • Behind-The-Scenes Special • Outtakes • "Badder Santa" Gag Reel
Technical Features: • 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio • Region 1 • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound

Rated Information from Buena Vista:

U.S. Rating: R
Approximate Run Time: 93 minutes
Bonus Feature(s): • Deleted And Alternate Scenes • Behind-The-Scenes Special • Outtakes
Technical Features: • 1.85:1 Aspect Ratio • Region 1 • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound • Spanish Subtitles

I see nothing about a commentary or tribute on either release?

I don't know about the r-rated, but there's definitely no commentary or john ritter tribute on the unrated, the features match the given list exactly.

I didn't think this was released by Universal. Wasn't everyone making a big deal over this because it's Buena Vista, a subsidiary of Disney?

Yeah, I misread the first post. I completely forgot that this was Buena Vista.

As long as Badder Santa is available for the same price as Bad Santa, I don't give a rat's crack what is on it/what is not on it.

I don't have my unrated copy in front of me, but I was looking at it last night and I'm pretty sure there's a tribute to Ritter on it. No commentary though.
