Walt Disney Treasures - Tomorrowland... Improperly Mastered?????

I'm kind of upset right now with Disney. I ordered all 4 Treasures from Wave 3 and they've all turned out good EXCEPT for the 1st disc of the Tomorrowland set. When playing this DVD on TWO different computers (Laptop & Desktop) I have a problem playing each of the programs. With the first program it keeps looping through the introduction by Leonard Maltin. What I have to do is do a next chapter (which sends me to chapter 2 of the actual program) and then do a previous chapter to get me to the beginning of the program.

The second and third programs (after the introduction) start at the second chapter).

This is with Power DVD XP Version 4.0. I don't have any other DVD playing software, so I don't know if it's an incompatibility with the software.

You might be thinking this might be because of a scratched disc, but that is not the case because I just received a *SECOND* copy, which I ordered because I thought my first copy WAS scratched (there appeared to be some light scratchmarks that I thought could have caused the problem). So I think they screwed up the disc.

So now I'm stuck with two copies for a combined price of $54 (I had to order the second copy through Amazon's zshops because they were sold out).

Does anybody else have this problem? Anybody want a copy of Tomorrowland?

No problem here at all; my copy works swimmingly well. It does sound like a software issue... have you tried playing the disc on a standalone DVD player?

I would imagine that if there were a mastering issue, it would have been noted in some reviews and definitely have been discussed here at length by now.

I don't have a TV. Poor college student. I hadn't heard anybody complain, which stressed me even more. It may be a software problem, but I don't have any other software to test it with.

You might want to try http://www.download.com to look for a free DVD player program. Cliprex DS DVD Player 1.0.5 looks to be free (I've never tried it, so I can't attest to the quality), and there are probably others as well. There's another free one called InterActual that I've used, which you can probably do a Google search for. Doesn't even Windows Media Player play DVDs these days?

I'm an idiot. :S I've done my best to wipe Windows Media Player from my mind that I never thought to use it. Just tried it... works fine. :S *sigh*

Take it to a home electronics store, and say you want to test out a player/tv, with your own disc...
