Whats added in the Director's cut of Pitch Black
I just finished watching the unrated director's cut of Pitch Black and thought it was pretty good.
I was just wondering which parts were originally left out of the original movie.
Thanks.

I saw the 1st hour of this film 3 years ago, then fell asleep. Last night I caught the last half (on the SciFi channel), and wish I had fallen asleep. Just kidding.
Vin Diesel is pretty cool.

We have a detailed review of the June 1st re-named, re-packaged, re-authored re-release of The Chronicles Of Riddick: Pitch Black Director's Cut here.
Snippet:
Pitch Black is a great little movie. Not totally original but handled with style. It gives us a great new hero and creates a real sense of dread, anxiety and excitement and it speeds along at a breakneck pace. Very enjoyable and fully deserving of the cult status that it has received. This uncut version restores some great character moments that really do add to the film.
Pitch Black the DVD is a mixed bag, I’m afraid. Marvellous video transfer, let down only slightly by the underwhelming audio tracks. Still, it is unlikely that the film has ever sounded better. Most of the extras, though they seem plentiful, are more painful. Endless promotional guff with no real effort made to explore the making of the film at all. There are two great commentary tracks though, that do go some way towards making up for it.
