Everwood DVD announced

From TVShowsonDVD.com
As a world-class neurosurgeon, Dr. Andrew Brown is a hero. As a father, he's a zero. But that is changing. Tragedy makes him a single parent to his two children. And as the first act of his new life, Andy leaves Manhattan and moves his family to Everwood, the tiny Colorado town where big dreams can grow. The relationship between Andy and his talented but resentful 15-year-old son Ephram forms the heart of these 23 first-season episodes of Everwood, the acclaimed, richly layered series created by Greg Berlanti (Dawson's Creek). Treat Williams plays Andy, learning parenting on the fly as he raises Ephram (Gregory Smith) and 9-year-old Delia (Vivien Cardone). Unafraid to tackle big issues, spiked with sharp humor and filled with engaging characters, Everwood is a place and a series that rewards each visit you make.

After a 3-month wait since we were first told to expect it, Everwood - The Complete 1st Season was announced this evening by Warner Home Video. This set contains 6 DVDs in a "Wyncase"-style packaging (such as Smallville uses, among others). The release date is Sept. 7th, while the price is $59.98 SRP for 1022 minutes containing the 23 episodes from the first season:

Disc 1 - Pilot, The Great Doctor Brown, Friendly Fire, The Kissing Bridge
Disc 2 - Dear God, The Doctor Is In, We Hold These Truths, Till Death Do Us Part
Disc 3 - Turf Wars, Is There a Doctor In the House?, A Thanksgiving Tale, Vegetative State
Disc 4 - The Price of Fame, Colin the Second (a.k.a. The Measure of a Man), Snow Job, My Funny Valentine
Disc 5 - Everwood Confidential (a.k.a. Let Sleeping Dogs Lie), The Unveiling, The Miracle of Everwood, Moonlight Sonata
Disc 6 - Episode 20, Fear Itself, Home. Plus Enhanced Content: Everwood Casualties, Gags and Goofs, In Search of Everwood.

The aspect ratio used is the orginal 1.33:1 format, and the soundtrack is English Stereo. Subtitles in English, French, and Spanish are also on-board. Bonus material is also packed in:

Audio Commentary on 4 episodes with the show's creators, cast and crew, including Treat Williams and Gregory Smith:
"Pilot"
"The Unveiling"
"Episode 20" (yep, that's the name of the episode! - DAVE)
"Home"
Deleted Scenes: "Everwood Casualties"
Featurette : "In Search of Everwood" - a behind-the-scenes featurette about the making of the show.
Gag Reel

Fans will be pleased, no doubt!

I am disappointed that they are not releasing the set in widescreen. The pilot and the season finale were both in widescreen when it was broadcast, well it was on my WB station.

I am a big fan of this show, and cannot wait until the dvd's (especially the commentaries).... actually if you look back at tvshowsondvd.com old new articles about everwood, you can see that I am the one that asked Warner Brothers about the release, which signalled to tvshowsondvd that everwood is coming out...

Everwood... sounds like a drug used to treat erectile disfunction.

From TVShowsOnDVD.com:
When we first posted news that Everwood was coming we received a number of emails asking us what the aspect ratio of the set was. Apparently the pilot and finale were broadcast in widescreen, while the other episodes were 1.33:1. That's exactly what we can expect with the first season set; the first and last episodes in widescreen and the others in 1.33:1. This information comes directly from Warner Home Video, after they checked with the Everwood office to confirm that these aspect ratios are correct.

Actually, that is a Maebe.

The DVD of Everwood, on the other hand, is a must buy in my book!
