Star Trek: TNG, DS9 imports - quality?

Seasons 1-7 of TNG and DS9 are available in Asian import versions for a fraction of the R1 release versions. Has anybody seen these discs? How does the quality compare to the R1 versions?

These are bootlegs. This may make you want to steer clear regardless of the quality. In any case, I seem to recall that discussion of the quality of bootlegs isn't allowed here.

Do you have a link to a legit store? "Asian import versions" usually (but not always) = bootleg.

Try looking on the Bay for these "asian imports" they are all over the place.

I've heard rumors that those bootlegs have burned in subtitles that cannot be removed. Do yourself a favor and save up and get the real deal R1 DVDs.

I heard tales of missing footage on several episodes. Several minutes, including the ending, were missing from the episode "Behind the Lines."

Well, there's a difference in a legit non-R1 release and a boot. I'm happy to buy non-R1 releases (I have a region-free player) but I don't buy bootlegs and wouldn't buy these if they were legit non-R1s but had burned-in subs.

So in other words, looks like I'll give these a pass. Pretty much what I figured, actually, but it never hurts to ask.
