Spiderman deluxe or superbit?
Which do you think is better the deluxe edition or superbit? Is the superbit quality really that much better? Ive never seen a superbit movie so im not sure. Which one will you guys be buying?
the way i see it you should help the economy and just buy both
I'm not buying either...the deluxe edition is just the same as the 2 disc with an extra disc thrown in, says so on the packaging.
pic?
Someone at HTF was even saying that it's literally the same 2 disc keepcase repackaged with a third. They said it still had the Cingular that expired in 2003! That's pretty lame.
what...how did they pack the 3rd disc
I thought the deluxe edition came with a bunch of extras that werent on the original so i guess i'll just buy the superbit then.
btw if anyone wants to see the packaging of the deluxe edition its here http://www.movieforums.com/community...670#post160670

it's new packaging, but the same exact discs...it tells you all of this on the back of the deluxe edition. I have no pics, but I've already seen it since I work for Best Buy.

that looks like it's from a different region. The link goes to eu.amazon.com.
Check out this pic from DVDEmpire: http://images.dvdempire.com/gen/movies/594911bh.jpg This looks like it's just a slip case for the old 2 disc plus a case for the bonus disc. |
Are any of those extras really spectacular and worth having ? If not Ill probably go with the Superbit.

I was able to get the Superbit tonight at a local shop. Here's my thoughts on it (viewed on a 57" Toshiba 16:9 set-ISF calibrated).
Video-wise, this appears to be the exact same transfer, just with a higher bit rate. I checked the bit rates for both during the same scenes and found the SB to be consistently in the 7-9 range, while the original disc was more 5-7. I'm not the world's biggest EE expert, but the video looked identical to me. The good news is I find the DTS track significantly better than the DD 5.1 track on the original. (I did not play the DD 5.1 track on the SB). Comparitively, the DTS track was noticeably louder (though not excessively), and the rear channels were much more active, creating a much better surround effect. The disc does come with MovieCash for Spider-Man 2. For me the better DTS track is probably worth it since the MoiveCash is included. However I wouldn't expect anything dramatic in the way of video improvement. I still don't think it's a bad looking film, but I'm pretty sure it's the same transfer. Chapter stops and titles were identical between both versions. My recommendation would be if you are planning to see Spider-Man 2 in the theater and are a DTS fan, pick it up. If you're looking at this for a better picture, don't get it unless you don't have the previous version. Oh, and I got a look at the 3-disc version, and it is indeed just a slipcase with the old 2-disc set and a third disc inside. |

And the Big Fish DVD. -ohbfrank-

If you get a chance, HBO-HD will be running Spiderman all next month.
It also appears to use the same master as the DVD, just with an even higher bitrate.:) |

Originally posted by Robert I cannot believe they're boasting that the teaser trailer is included when its also on the old Hellboy preview dvd and the unrated Underworld dvd. -ohbfrank- |
Oh well, at least they didn't call it Spiderman 1.5. If the extra's are all the same, then I won't be picking this one up.
So anyway to just buy that 3rd disc alone? Remember when Jurasic Park came out and you could mail away for the box and bonus disc (and it was universal! LOL!). I wish more companies did stuff like that.
I never picked it up last time so I think i'll just get the Superbit.
maybe the wtc trailer is that teaser trailer thats mentioned in big bold letters.
