I've seen tons of copies of the two-disc set at Best Buy every time I've gone there in recent months. If it is out of print, it seems to still be available. Ships in 1-2 business days from Best Buy's Web site.

Best Buy does indeed carry it... My local store had ~ 50 copies at one point, but now there's only 6 or 8 left as of a few days ago... Strangely enough, I haven't seen it in another B&M and it's still out of stock at most/all (?) of the major web retailers.

So is there any news from the studio that it might be OOP or going OOP? Anyone know for sure?

From what I remember reading on this board, it was brought back specifically for Best Buy, at their request. In fact, I believe it was available exclusively through them for the most part.

No "official" news on it being OOP (is there ever "official" news on this except for Criterion and Disney? It seems most studios don't announce it).

I would say, just buy it on BB.com, and call it a day.

You're exactly right. Most of the Fox 2-disc reissues were brought back just for Best Buy.

Seems like we get more copies of Fight Club at Best Buy everytime we get a shipment of DVDs from our main warehouse. Not sure how long this will last though. We actually got a copy once that was the first version of the case, without the # on the spine. Probably sold it already though. I've had my copy since before it went OOP, so it's no skin off my teeth whether it goes again or not. Although, if something happens to mine, I'd be humming a different tune. It was pretty exciting, a couple months ago, when it was "re-released" (to us anyway... I think the date was a Sunday ), to open up the box and see a ton of 2-disc Fight Club DVDs. Like a kid in a candy store. Don't get many days like that anymore. 'Cept maybe when I run over little Timmy down the street with my super-charged wheelchair. What was I talking about?

Wish this topic would've been started a couple of weeks ago - I bought one (w/ spine number) off od Ebay for 30$ shipped. Oh wel; does anyone have an idea what's the reasoning behind the spine number - I mean which are the others?

Fight Club just started showing up at my local BBs about a month ago. what is that, about 7 months since they were released?? i already had it but i always checked on it because friends were interested. better late than never i guess.

along the same lines, i noticed that BB has just started restocking a lot of 2 DVD sets, where they previously only carried the single disc versions. i looked everywhere for the 2 disc mothman prophecies and they were nowhere to be found, until now. i think BB thinks the general customer prefer the cheaper single disc versions when available and didnt bother stocking the SEs.

they are adding new titles here and there that were not two disc (Planet of the Apes)...and giving back the stuff that has been gone...sound of music, fight club, I'm sure patton, big trouble in little china and more are on the way. Spine number is just marketing. Because some people gotta have em all

While I was picking up The Monster Legacy Giftbox at BB today, I remembered this thread, checked and found a stack of the 2-disc Fight Club.

I looked on various online retailers and they only list the one disc. So far, only BB has the 2 disc. What is up with that?

Oh well,I have to buy the dvd someday. Have'nt seen it since it was first released on dvd way back.

It was stated earlier in this thread. They were re-released at the request of, and exclusively for, Best Buy.

Picked one up at BB today. I think I actually bought the original packaging version. No spine number on the side compared to some other copies that were sitting behind it.
