Six Feet Under: Season 2 delayed

From TVShowsOnDVD.com:
HBO emailed us a few days ago to let us know that Six Feet Under: Season 2 would be delayed. They didn't have a new date so we held off posting the news. Earlier today Casey Common wrote in to let us know that Amazon.com had changed their release date from June 8th to July 6th and later in the day we received word from HBO that this is the new date for the set.

Man, this sucks. When did the first season come out? Wasn't it like early 2003?

Yup, February 4th, to be exact. A year apart is bad enough, but 17 months?

For real. Who do they think they are? Columbia Tri Star?

This is terrible. I got into Six Feet Under when the set came out last year, and watched every episode in like two weeks. Plus, I don't have HBO here nor do I want to watch reruns to ruin all of the episodes I haven't seen. I wonder why it's delayed, hopefully to add more bonus features?

As much as i am waiting for season 2 of 6fu to be released, i don't mind waiting another month in this case since they have moved it to a week where i have nothing to buy. Makes it easier on my wallet as i had several things allready to buy on June 8th like quantum leap.

Damn, I don't want to wait any longer. Even if it is only 1 month.

I'm not happy. I still need to see episodes 23 and 24 as they were skipped in the Video on Demand on my Charter Cable system although they made every other episode from Season 2 available over the last couple months.

Correction. I've been checking nearly every day and I just inspired myself to check again. Episode 23 is now up. Just need 24.

Very dumb. A big reason I subscribed to HBO before Sopranos season 4 started was that I'd just finished watching Season 3 and wanted to keep going. I'll still keep HBO since 1. I already have it and 2. I've already seen all the shows, but if I had only caught it on DVD so far, they'd lose out on me subscribing.

I think they'd be far better served by having all the seasons to date released, to try to suck people into watching the continuing story (especially since Season 3 had some unresolved issues). Even more of a missed opportunity if they don't even have the 2nd season done in time for the new season (although it'd be really confusing to go from 2 to 4 anyway, since season 3 took a really surprising turn right from the start).

Bummer.

Anyone have any reason why? The dreaded Music rights issues? Logistical probs?

I've only seen S1 thanks to DVD, and S2 is probably my most anticipated release of the year. I freakin' love that show.
