What's New on the Ali Director's Cut?

With it being only a couple of weeks away, does anyone know what the directors cut of Ali will have, in terms of both extras and additional footage of the movie?

I believe it will feature more prominant usage of "Booyakasha," aight?

I'll pick this one up, since I am a Michael Mann fan. But I am not sure if this new edition will be any better than the previous one, especially since I seriously doubt an extended cut will improve the film (which was decent, but not up to Mann's usual quality).

I have the first edition, and I do really like the movie (even if others saw it as dissappointing). I was hoping to find out if the added footage warrants a double dip.

You can find our detailed comparison review of the new US R1 release of Ali Director's Cut and 2001's original release here.

Snippet:
It really is a shame these days when special editions don’t turn out to be the definitive editions – you still need multiple copies in order to have everything you can on the film, which just shouldn’t be the case.

The director’s cut DVD is better than the original region 1 release (although it is a shame that Tristar did not include the trailer) because of the extra footage, commentary and making-of.

But, either way, if you don’t have this film, like Muhammed Ali and already have When We Were Kings then you really should go out and buy this Director's Cut. If you already have it then buying this new edition is probably, in all honesty, unnecessary, except for absolute completists.

So I'm getting that both are the same in quality but the new version (+) commentary, a featurette, and a director's cut and (-) the trailer.

Now I just one question, can you choose which cut to watch or is it only the DC version?

Would've been nice to have the trailer, but it sounds like getting rid of my old version for this one would be a good trade.

......

So that's a really good artical, does this site do this for other double-dips? I'd like to read up on Spider-Man.

It's only the DC.
