What are the best DVD bargains you passed up and now regret?

I could have gotten the soon-to-be OOP Fantasia for $11.00 and The 3 disc Criterion of Brazil for $15.00. I had the money, I knew it was rare, but I decided..., "nah!"

Dummy!

LOTR:FOTR EE for $20 at Target
Evil Dead: Book of the Dead for $20 at Best Buy

and last week at Best Buy, I should've went back again to pricematch the TRU B2G1 Free flyer (with the $3 off AIW coupon)and got Alice In Wonderland and two $9.99 movies for $26.98.

And I still don't have any of these movies. I'm still waiting for a deal to come around again. It probably will never happen for Evil Dead though.

Back in 98 I had a Criterion Killer in my hands at Tower Records and I put it back because it wasn't on sale. D'oh!

They had Salo in stock too, and I didn't get that one either!

I'm just sorry I passed up those $10 Flash Gordon and MST3K: The Movie DVDs. I kept thinking I'd get them some other day, but never did.

The only thing I regret is not buying more during Deep Discount's 20% off coupon. Though I did spend over $200 I could of bought more and sold them on ebay.

I managed to get the MST3K movie, but not This Island Earth. You'd think they'd at least reissue that one...

I'm in the process of upgrading certain DVDs, and I just bought the Fargo SE for $19.99 to replace the old Polygram version, and when it was released some time ago it was $14.99. I grumbled.

I also regret not buying more stuff at 20% off from DDDVD, I just didn't have any money to spend at the time and didn't want to get myself in debt.

Agreed. I spent just over $100, and was proud of being a "good boy" for once. What a dunce.

I kept passing on This Is Spinal Tap: Criterion back when it was in print. One time in particular, I ended up getting the Mallrats:SE instead.

The one that bugs me the most is not buying MST3K The Movie for $8.99 when I saw it. I went back to get it the next week and it was gone.

I refuse to pay the ebay prices for it, so I settled on getting the LD for about 9 bucks. The DVD didn't have any extras anyway.

Had both "The Killer" and "Hard Boiled" criterions in hand, noticed they weren't 16:9 and thought "Oh well, I'll wait for better versions."

It wasn't a month later that they were OOP and I couldn't find a copy anywhere for less than $50 each.

Another "I can't believe how much I'm spending" during DDD's 20% off coupon madness, followed months later by the inevitable "I can't believe I didn't buy more."

i dropped about $400 on the DDD sale and am only now starting to get around to selling some of them off.

i was kicking myself at the time for being so indulgent, but i should have used the opportunity to buy almost everything i had had my eye on, especially the criterions, just to watch it once and get it out of my system.
selling them off after that, would have only lost me about the price of a rental.

the problem i'm having is that so many of the blind buys i made during that sale turned out to be discs i really enjoyed and i'm having a hard time selling them off- even though that was the intention they were purchased under.

800.com's 3 for $1. Now I feel old in DVDTalk terms! I think that was the first deal I saw on here, but was still wary of the internet. Duh!

WOW! I forgot about that deal. That must have been 6 or 7 years ago. And I did partake in that deal, don't remember what DVDs I chose, but remember being very happy about it.

There haven't been any deals I can think of off hand that I've passed up since I've been a member here.

I, on the other hand, blew a TON of money on that sale.
