"The Uninvited" - Will this ghost story ever be released?

I was watching my LD a few days ago. I thought afterward that it is a shame this is not on DVD. Then I remembered...

Universal owns this & as far as I'm concerned Universal couldn't find its derriere with 4 hands

....My big hope is that the new NBC/GE management team will release catalog films like this one. My fear is that Universal's management will see this as a 60 year old B&W film with a leisurely pace, a type of film that does not appeal to the young adult & teenage audience that all Studios are aiming their theatrical films & DVD releases at. "The Uninvited" does not have blood & guts, or bright colors, or a high speed staccato pace to it. What it has is good acting & a good story, something most new films lack IMHO!

Great film that is one of many horror films that Universal owns that are not on DVD. They really need to start hitting their horror catalog, they've ignored it for too long.

Yes, I would have liked to have seen them release some of those ignored Horror/Sci-Fi catalog titles instead of re-issuing the "Monster" titles.

I have a portable dvd player that I take on trips. I converted many of my favorite LDs into dvd-r ( including THE UNINVITED) so I have something to view at 2 a.m. It is a shame that the lovers of the older classic movies have such a hard time getting the dvds we love released.
For now I am happy to be able to convert them and view them on my portable (as well as my other 4 players)

I too have burned a copy of The Uninvited. Couldn't wait for the studio. I would still buy one if it was released though.

I don't blame you. You never know with Universal!
