Suppose 10.5 comes to DVD...would you buy?

I must admit, I had hope that this 2 part miniseries would be decent. After watching only part 1, I thought it sucked. I am watching part two tonight just to see them destroy Southern California, but the acting is terrible and story pretty much sucks too.

I was glad, however, to see Fred Ward, as he is an excellent actor, and I like Beau Bridges. Nobody else was that impressive. I will admit it was fun to see John Schneider 20 years later off-roading and whooping it up.

Even though I would think most people would agree that this flick sucks, there is a market for every disaster flick. People bought Twister. So I'm wondering, if 10.5 came out on DVD, which I think it might considering all the hype, do we have a market for it at this forum? Any thoughts?

Please don't compare 10.5 to Twister.

Bill Hunt had some, er, um, interesting things to say about it on the Digital Bits.

To give you some idea of what I thought of the movie, I turned to VH-1's "Surviving Ted Nugent" during the 2nd hour of 10.5.

Anyway, so as I sit here trying to cut through a snoot full of phlegm, my head is still reeling over the craptitude that was the first half of NBC's 10.5 last night. 10.5 makes the mistake of taking itself way too seriously (complete with 24-style shaky cam and split-screen), while at the same time having one of the most weak-ass, pseudo-science plots ever. I'm talking Land of the Lost weak-ass, without all the Saturday morning fun. How bad is 10.5? Let me put it this way... the only way it could get worse would be if aliens arrived to save California with "Super Duper Fault Glue", or real live dinosaurs came up out of the ground. Scratch that... aliens and/or dinosaurs might actually make this cheesy flick better. 10.5 makes Armageddon look like Lawrence of Arabia, and if you've read this website for any length of time, you know I don't say that lightly. Perhaps the most entertaining thing about this film was the teaser commercials for our local NBC newscast afterwards: "10.5... could it really happen? We'll separate the fact from the fiction, tonight at 11!" Now, I'm gonna take the high road and assume you all have at LEAST a first grade education. If there are those among you who actually need the fact sorted from the fiction in 10.5, I'm losing hope for the survival of our species.

That Kim Delaney is such a fine actress.

She was great in 'All My Children' and was even better here!

Buy - no way. Rent? Probably - if only to see the Space Needle take a header into a bunch of buildings that arent there in real life.

Ditto. I laughed out loud when someone always had to stay behind and detonate the nuke in a disaster film (Armageddon, Deep Impact, The Core)...

All i learned is that meddling with nature only makes things worse.

And that movies like this were best left on 20th century TV.

I avoided this completely, and it doesn't sound as if I missed much, and I'll continue to ignore it in any incarnation.

I watched it just to see the cities get leveled but there's no way I would pay money for this.

I hadn't heard about it until I was flipping channels last night and caught part of it accidentally. At first I thought it was some scene from the movie Volcano I had forgotten about I may add it to my Netflix queue once it hits DVD but I already have a years worth of stuff in there so...

I had a pretty good time last night doing MST3Kish commentary while watching it, but in retrospect I would still rather have spent those two hours reading, or web browsing, or going through all my unlabeled cdrs and trying to figure out what is on them.

And Kaley Cuoco didn't look so great when they brought the camera in close, either.
