In addition to The Marx Brothers Collection I will be picking up Peter Pan. I already got Abbot & Costello and Ma & Pa Kettle last Tuesday because Best Buy released them early.

Should be getting Desk Set today from Fox Store, next week the Marx Brothers Collection from Amazon, and eventually the Best of Abbott and Costello Volume 2.

That's funny . . . I didn't even notice that it wasn't Rypro's thread . . . although I did notice that 05/04 was spelled out . . . strange what details you pick up on . . .

Anyway, it's supposed to be Rypro's thread, so I'll port my posts over here.

It was already posted, and as far as I know, there is no set rule to when a thread can be posted. This is a dupe and should be closed or merged.

Gilmore Girls
Party of Five
Law & Order S2

I'm also seriously considering picking up Last Samurai as a blind buy. And, maybe I've just had too much cold medicine this week, but I SWEAR Donnie Brasco SE has been out for a while, long enough that I bought it a few months ago.

For this particular type of thread, this has worked since '02.
This is a dupe and should be closed or merged.

You see, what happened was . . . there was this . . . um . . .

. . . and it . . . er . . .

. . . what I was trying to say . . .

Aw, crap. 5-letters, starts with a capital "r", ends in three numbers that begin with a "5". I think you guys planned this and have been waiting for someone to fall for it.

I was just planning my purchases and noticed that there wasn't a "What are you buying..." thread yet.

I didn't know it was a Rypro thing. Does he have the monopoly on wondering what other people are buying each Tuesday?

Anyway, for this week, the poll's here:

On Order:

The Bernie Mac Show: Season 1 (from DVDPlanet)
Marx Brothers Collection (from Amazon)
[hopefully, this will be a big enough seller to get Universal
to finally re-issue the Marx Bros. Paramount films]

B&M Pickups:

The Best of Abbott and Costello, Volume 2
Desk Set: Studio Classics

Later on down the line (used or CH):

Girl with a Pearl Earring
Triplets of Belleville

That's because I don't post it until Friday. As linked earlier, it was decided by Static that it shouldn't be started until the weekend. Since i've been doing it, i've always posted it on Friday afternoon.

It's not "a Rypro thing". That was confusion on talemyn's part.

The "what are you getting" thread has gone through quite a few changes. I don't necessarily remember it, but jack[skeleton] stated that initially, whomever started the thread, didn't bother cutting 'n pasting the DVD Talk links for the week's releases. When I started doing it, I added the poll since some might think it tedious reading each and every post. Though, it's tough sometimes since there are only 10 possible choices.

And just like the "what are you watching" thread*, there is no monopoly. Chad and I just happen to be the ones that have "taken up the mantle", so to speak.

oh, and talemyn...you got punk'd.

edit: well, after further research, maybe Chad DOES have a monopoly...
