OK, translation required for us Brits - what is a "Circle jerk"?

SFranke 04-29-04 08:29 AM

It's an American punk rock band.

It's also when you and your bloody mates join 'round for a jolly good wank.

Oh I don't know, sometimes when studios keep re-releasing DVD's of the same movie over and over. Or when certain directors keep consumers in suspense over the release dates of certain movies....it can feel like a big circle jerk, can't it :D

When asking a question, use a "?"...

Oh, wait... nevermind...

PixyJunket 04-29-04 10:09 AM

I think it was meant to be a reply to another thread.

If I were to compile a list of things I expected to see on DVD Talk forum this morning, this would be pretty close to the bottom. :hump:

bboisvert 04-29-04 10:12 AM

I was hoping for a surprise when I opened this.

I wasn't disappointed.

Perhaps a better command would be "when using a '?', ask a question".

Sorry, meant this as a reply to a post on the "Widescreen lovers are intellectuals" thread. Slip of the finger.

But thanks for the entertaining responses anyway...now I know.

Group wanks? Gotta have some broad minded and adventurous friends for that one.

Must be the English in me, but I have never considered it a spectator sport.

Then I must be part English. ;)

iggystar 04-29-04 10:34 AM

My question is "When is this tread going to be deleted?" :)

aam1 04-29-04 10:34 AM

JM1

Thanks for asking, I was just too scared.

It's not a spectator sport. In general, all the people in the room are participants (or 'fellow teammates', if you will)
