Anyone else find Abel Ferrara extremely annoying on the King of New York commentary?
So, am I the only one that could not stand Abel Ferrera on this commentary? This may rank as one of the 3 most annoying commentaries I've ever listened to. He is just WAY too Italian/New York (no offense anyone, he just sounds like a comical stereotype), & WAY to full of himself, & way to creepy, practically getting off everytime a girl came on screen. Just the way he describes the movie, I couldn't take it.
The movie is sooo good though. I forgot just how amazing Walken is in this movie.

A limited edition release of his debute film, which I have never seen, but is said to be beyond terrible...Driller Killer is coming out soon. The original release had a coked drunk off his ass commentary by him.
That commentary will be on the new release.
I never really like him anyway out of all the films I have seen so far.

The commentary in Driller Killer is damn funny. If it's anything like that, I'll be picking this one up ASAP.
Um, a new release of Driller Killer? Is there any differences from the original DVD release?

"And coming from Cult Epics on June 29th is the infamous Abel Ferrara cult nasty The Driller Killer. This limited edition (10,000 copies) two-disc set includes a remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer of the uncut version, plus an audio commentary by Ferrara, early short films by the auteur ("Could This Be Love," "The Hold Up" and "Nicky's Film," each also with commentary by Ferrara), a still gallery, trailer and collectible booklet. Retail will be $29.95."
They also announced Bob Clark's 'Deathdream' that day.

No, wouldn't want to meet Ferrara either, but I've gotta confess I was cracking up during his KONY commentary -- it was like sitting with a dumbass frat boy, and I thought most of it was hilarious. Fortunately when the commentary was over I could turn it off and he went away. I'm a big fan of KONY and Bad Lieutenant, but I just saw 'R Xmas. What's up widdat? Not a satisfying film in any way...
