Donnie Brasco: SE... 5/4 re-release?

Okay, I'm a bit confused. In the list of upcoming DVDS it shows that Donnie Brasco SE will be released 5/4. But, I already have this exact DVD and it's still in print. Anyone know what's going on?

TIA

Price reduction. I have the "new" one too.

Price reduction? Wow, it's already $9.99 at Best Buy. Very interesting. Well, the movie didn't do very well at the box office, and probably not as a DVD either. A shame really, as it's one of my favorite mob movies.

It's a cool movie. I guess I'll wait for the price drop to pick it up.

It's the suggested retail price (SRP) that usually drops when this happens. Sometimes it'll be reflected in the selling price, but it's done so that the margin loss shrinks. So if you're selling a $19.99 (SRP) DVD for $9.99, you're losing $10. Reprice the SRP to $14.99 or $9.99, you don't lose as much.

The reduced price is to $14.95 MSRP. It's already selling for ~ $10 and there's not going to be another price drop to $9.95 MSRP (...yet). The 5/4 date is the "official" price drop date, but in reality, most retailers have already reduced it to $14.95. So, buying it now or on May 4 makes no difference... Nice DVD BTW...

Sweet, I might pick it up if its already reduced in-stores. Although a lot of times they'll be included in (2 for 15, 2 for 20, etc..) type of sales once they officially drop.

Glad to hear that all it was was price drop. I was confused when I saw this myself. I hate the double dip. I've only done it once. And I don't plan on doing it again. Even for movie as great as this.

For a second there, I thought they were rereleasing it a third time. Glad for a price drop, maybe more people will see it (I thought it was a great flick).

how many threads have we had about this subject but with a different movie? like 200 billion?

I'm kind of curious why the SE has a 5.0 DD mix and not a 5.1. I was sort of hoping the sub would come alive during a few of the more intense moments in the film.

A lot of stores will offer this as a pre-order item at the new price. It's $9.90 at DDD, but only nine cents more at Best Buy, and you can pick it up today.
