What is the point of this???
NOt really DVD realted but nonetheless it is DVHS relates, just seen CAST AWAY on DVHS on DVDempire.com
http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...item_id=458686 Its made for HDTV 1080I 16X9 but the movie is in PAN&SCAN, why would anyone do this, can anyone explain this????? |
You sure it isn't a typo?
|
Um.. where does it say Pan & Scan? Is my english not up to today's standards or something?
|
It doesn't say Pan/Scan, this is what it says:
Standard 1.33:1 Color Even though right above it, it says 16:9 1080i. So like I said, it's probably a typo. |
It doesn't say "Pan & Scan". However, when the OAR is 1.85:1 the term:
Video: Standard 1.33:1 Color usually indicates Pan & Scan (cound just be unmasked though). Originally posted by PixyJunket Um.. where does it say Pan & Scan? Is my english not up to today's standards or something? |
I'm sure it's a typo. The DVD case stated that the movie was 2.35:1 when it's actually (and always has been ) 1.85:1.
Apparently Fox (and/or DVD Empire) just can't figure out what this movie's ratio is from looking at it. |
Probably a typo. Another site lists it as:
ote: D-VHS VCR hardware required. Widescreen Anamorphic - 1.85 Audio: ---Dolby Digital 5.1 - English ---Dolby DTS - English ---SDDS - English Release Info: --D-VHS D-Theater (High Definition Video) --Closed-Captioned --Color Film --Letterboxed --Year Released: 2000 --RunTime: 143 Min. --Release Language: English --Closed Captioned in English --Original Language: English |
