Anyone still buying the 2 episode discs of Star Trek TOS?
I was just wondering since the rumor has it that they are coming out in season sets and If you bought them 2 episodes at a time it would probably cost you double compared to the potential season sets. But then again there are some of us who don't have enough patience to wait for the arrival of season sets.

I purchased all the ones that I wanted long before even the TNG sets release. I don't own all of them & I won't repurchase the season sets unless there are some very heavy duty extras like audio commentaries on every episode, text commentary on every episode & behind the scenes documentaries.

If there's not hardcore extras, I'll just fill out my collection of single disc volumes from all the people selling their's off for the box sets.

Well, they're far from rumors, since Paramount ads showed up in magazines and in the Season One set of Star Trek: Voyager. I have stopped buying the two episode discs, and I WILL be buying the season sets. It looks very much like Dragonslayer will NOT be buying the season sets wince we are really unlikely to see episode commentaries (ON EVERY EPISODE EVEN -- GET SERIOUS) or text commentaries. All we're likely to see is the same kinda stuff we've seen on the other Star Trek Season Sets. Paramount, and I suppose the Star Trek producers in particular, are not very creative in that way.

The TOS season sets are coming in 2004. In fact, I just got my DS9 rebate in the mail and it has an ad stating Voyager and TOS season sets will be available in 2004.
The TOS season sets should at least include the commentaries that Shatner and Nimoy recorded for the Sci-Fi Channel about 7 or so years back. If you recall, Sci-Fi first ran the TOS episodes uncut with commentary from Shatner and Nimoy, stretching each show, with commercials, to about 90 minutes.

I don't own any TOS DVDs, so I will be considering the season sets. However, the price is going to have to be lower than what they have been charging for each epsiode on average. No way in hell I'm going to pay 7-8.00 for each episode.

I had four of the OT discs but gave them to my dad (who's a big ST fan). I'll pick up the season sets if they're less than $50 apiece. There's no way I'm going to pay the $109 that the Next Generation season sets are going for.
