problems with pen & teller bulls*&t dvd

I just got my copy of Pen &Teller's Bullshit dvd and can't seem to get it to load properly. It can't get past the showtime intro and just freezes at a black screen. I tried another set and the same problem occurs on each of the 3 discs. I tried each disc on two different dvd players that are working properly with other dvd discs.

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem, since I'd like to know if it's a defective set outside of the two that i tried.
Please post if you have a problem or if your set works properly.

thanks

Paul J

It helps if you mention the make and model of the player you are using.

I haven't had a chance to check out my set - has anyone else had any problems besides mediawave?

I noticed a pixellation/freeze-up problem in the episode about Christian fanatics that denounce the evolution theory. This was in a regular JVC 65, about 3 years old.

I then tried it in my newer all-region JVC player that I got from HKflix (through DVDtalk), and it played fine through the problem part.

So, there might be some problems with a few older players. For the few discs I've had problems with, I confirm the problems on at least 2 players before I'll try to exchange it.

By the way, great show! Can't wait for season 2 on DVD.

Just loaded mine (received from Amazon) into my JVC XV-FA90, and it plays just fine...disc one, anyway.

My old Toshiba freezes right on this episode, as well.

I finished up the entire set last night. No problems at all on my Toshiba.

I have a problem with mine, and returned the first set...exact same problem (Freezes at the showtime intro) with both sets.

However, if I hit the preview button, then "ok", it goes right to menu. I've had no problems with the episodes themselves, just the intro. I'm using a Philips 727.

Works just fine on my trusty dusty hacked Apex, but would not do a thing when I tried to watch on an XBox.
