Butterfly Effect announced for July 6th

Got this from thedigitalbits.com. Looks like a solid release. Cant wait to see the directors cut, there was supposed to be some controversial ending that they had to cut. Either way, ill definately be picking this one up

From www.thedigitalbits.com

New Line has also revealed that they'll release The Butterfly Effect: Infinifilm Edition on July 6th (SRP $27.95). The disc will include both the theatrical cut and a new director's cut in anamorphic widescreen video, with Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and DTS 6.1 ES audio. Extras will include audio commentary with the director and screenwriters, deleted/alternate scenes, featurettes on The Creative Process, Visual Effects, The Science and Psychology of the Chaos Theory and The History and Allure of Time Travel, a subtitle trivia track, a storyboard gallery and the theatrical trailer, in addition to DVD-ROM extras (including a script-to-screen feature of the director's cut, a commentary digest, a production gallery, "scene medleys" and weblinks). Here's the cover art for that...

Great news...but if both versions are in the same set. It was pretty much pointless to get the DC version rerated, since it got an R anyway..& it's not like it is being released separately.

What the hell are you talking about? Maybe I don't understand your post, but it sounds like you are complaining just for the sake of complaining. Who cares if they got a rating for the directors cut? Jeez, some people just can't be happy...

huh? why would they have taken the time to resubmit the DC to the MPAA? It's not like they planned on re-releasing the film to theaters.

Don't know if it's true or not, but supposedly the "controversial ending" is:

Spoiler:
at the end of the film the main character jumps back in time to when he's in his mother's womb, and strangles himself with his umbilical cord, thus preventing his birth and any negative effects on the other character's lives.

Redskull, if done right, that ending could be pretty interesting. Of course, done wrong, it could have been the cheesiest thing ever. Where did you hear that info from?

Great film, great specs... but why did they need to change the cool-looking font of the theatrical poster? Now it looks very bland. There's one here: http://www.impawards.com/2004/butterfly_effect.html, but the one I'd prefer most is what's used here: http://www.butterflyeffectmovie.com/, especially with the inverted "f" in "Effect". Very cool.

cool.

But I'm still mad at New Line for not putting a DTS track on FvsJ.

Well if you go over to filmratings.com,you will see the DC listed as being R.

So I thought it was being released separately, but that appears to not be the case. Thus I though it was pointless to bother getting it rerated then. Why waste the money? That is all.

Not a real complaint, just a 'why bother' thought.

I did not see in the theater, but I'll have to check it out on DVD with the multiple versions of the film. Hopefully it'll be good...

Sounds great. DTS ES 6.1! There were a lot of loud parts so I can't wait!

I was shocked that I actually liked this movie so much...
